View Full Version : Any eMusic suggestions?

I've decided to cancel my eMusic subscription this month and use the $15/month to rent a wine locker for my growing collection of vino.
I have around 40 downloads left and wanted to see if anyone had some songs (or albums) that they feel are vital on there. I have about 10 "Save for Later" albums that have been there for awhile but I'm probably not going to get any of them. I find that anytime I send one to that list, I never end up purchasing it.
Someone please keep me from wasting my last few selections on those...

The Clientele - Strange Geometry
Andrew Bird - Armchair Apochrapha (sp?)
and if you wait, the new White Stripes will be available on e-music. V2 is now in their pool of labels.

I have the new Clientele.
Andrew Bird is one of those in my Save for Later folder.
When is the release date on the White Stripes?

I'll reserve a few for it. My subscription renews the following week.
Any more obscure suggestions of things I might have missed?

Dave,
Where are you planning on renting storage?
I am looking into that as well, as I have almost outgrown my two wine coolers.

Well, The Clientele's new album isn't half as good as Strange Geometry, but whatever.
Margot & The stupid named so and so's - Dust of Retreat
Heartless Bastards - All This Time
Camera Obscura - Let's Get Out of This Country
Midlake - The Trials of Van Occupanther
Any of their Stax Records compilations
Winterpills - Winterpills or The Light Divides
The French Kicks
Panda Bear - Person Pitch

At least Dave understood.

Don't you hate hip-hop, Dave?
If not - I urge you to get anything from The Coup and P.O.S.'s Audition.

Oh, Mogwai, Saxon Shore and This Will Destroy You if you don't already have them, as well.

Good call. Why not take it a step further and grab both of KC Accidental's albums while you are at it then?

Sorry Yabs.
I was thinking that Strange Geometry was the new release.
I do have all the Clientele records.
Hip Hop is usually awful, but I do like old school stuff and some newer artists, Busdriver, Sage Francis...

This Heat-Deceit

I've been debating about it for a bit.
Is it a bit more accessible than "This Heat?"
bmack86

Much more accessible. The first album was an experiment with tape loops and effects, while the second one is their attempt at writing "pop" songs. It's still out there and wild, but there's more structure and form. I'm not sure if it's on there, but the Health and Efficiency single is the best thing they ever put out. That track is uber badass.

Done.
OK, so far +5 points for bmack's This Heat suggestion.
