The Forum? Seriously? Jesus. Remember when bands used to care about playing in a decent venue, even if it meant multiple nights to accommodate the demand?

So I guess this means no Interpol at Detour. Maybe The Flaming Lips. *crosses fingers*

Yeah, I've seen Interpol enough. They aren't going to change their show drastically at this point, so I know what to expect, and I've seen Calla twice, so there's no reason for me to catch them there. I do like that Interpol usually has a badass opener. I've seen them open for The Cure, and then have Boom Bip and Blonde Redhead as their opening acts.

They played Stella last night when i saw them. It was a much better show than Coachella, and a close to perfect setlist.

'Pioneer To The Falls'
'Slow Hands'
'Narc'
'Say Hello To The Angels'
'Mammoth'
'Rest My Chemistry'
'Obstacle 1'
'Public Pervert'
'Hands Away'
'The Heinrich Maneuver'
'Evil'
'Not Even Jail'

'Stella Was A Diver And She Was Always Down'

I have seen them 4 times (The last one was merely because they came on before Bjork at Coachella)..I first saw them at Coachella in 2003 close out the outdoor theater..horrible sound issues but they still put on a good show..2nd time was at the Huntridge theater in Las Vegas...Rat ta tat opened for them and I actually sat on the stage while they performed...saw them again 2 years ago at the hard rock LV and the 4th was this years Coachella...it is funny because I still don't think that they are that big..I found it quite odd for them to be on the main stage...I found it even more odd that so many people were there to see them...It is kind of nice because I have gotten to see them grow..but you are right it is kind of the same stuff over and over..But I did enjoy the new songs @ Coach so I am hoping to check them out at the Fillmore here in Denver but we will see (It is all about $$ right now)...since I have seen them already this year there is no dire need...it will really depend on how much I like the new album...

What I want to know is what exactly is The Forum giving these bands under whatever contract negotiating they go through. RHCP, Pearl Jam, Coldplay, Muse, The White Stripes, and now Interpol...The Forum is doing something right, a couple years back I thought this shit hole was getting demolished?

Bastage. I am sure most people who were fans of the group before their Antics tour did, too (as well as those who got to catch the 3rd giant leg of it, when they busted it out very far away from Phoenix). I was a tad late to the Interpol party, so I haven't gotten it at any of the 4 shows I have seen.

I am wondering, why there is such a big gap in between l.a. and SF. They have to be doing Vegas, only city that would be fitting on this route. So maybe The PEarl, I would die if I was on the floor for that.

Oh and that set is far from perfect. Its good but not amazing. I am still wondering why they are not playing longer, I think last tour they did like 16. So why not maybe 18 - 20 a night? There is enough material to do so.

I'm not in any way suggesting the set was perfect, plus they were at a venue with a 10pm curfew, so it was a short set, but it was in a much smaller venue than they are playing on their full tour later in the year. I'm sure in November there will be a longer set with worse sound and a terrible view.

I don't know what it is, but the last couple of years Phoenix has gotten pretty douched on concerts. There was an influx of solid acts up until about 2005 I would say, but that has seemed to dissipate quite a bit. Salt Lake City and Boise now get the nod over Phoenix, which makes no sense to me.

Out of the 9 times I've seen them, the only time I ever heard The New was during a soundcheck for the show at the Greek Theater.

I never complain with venues, due to the fact that I'm always up front.

But Interpol hasn't picked Phoenix all that much. They've played here twice: once as part of Curiosa and once headlining at the Marquee. And those two shows were about two months apart.

They actually played the 103.9 festival back in, I want to say Fall of 2005? At Peoria Stadium? Plus they hit up Tucson back in February of 2005 (I went to this show, and the storm on the way back almost blew me off the road). Maybe that 103.9 show left a bad taste in their mouth.

Well I got the album now available to download, and after reading more fine print, they are screwing with people some more for tickets. Only certain venues are even eligible for the pre sale offer, so whatever is on TM right now and has the pre sale is all that is going to be done. I just wasted $9.99 for nothing. Guess I gotta figure out my Saturday now......

I would love to hear "The Specialist" played live, and "There is No I in Threesome" should be on that setlist for sure, along with "Pace Is The Trick"

Its being discussed on the Interpol board, I am seeing if an answer will be found. I think there has to be a glitch and pre sales havent been updated for L.A. but its stupid. Of all the markets to not get the chance its L.A. or even San Francisco too. Its going to be a free for all Saturday morning, this sucks. I wish I coudl get a refund and use that money to buy a real cd tomorrow. This is why I am anti iTunes...

YES

What I wouldn't give for an Of Montreal show. Where the hell are they already? And Hot Chip, and The Black Keys for that matter. DANI!

forum is huge.

And the pre sale sold out of floor, only seats are left. Your point? There is going to be like no floor tix tomorrow for the general sale. You might get lucky grabbing them, but I doubt it. Lots of people will be screwed if they had no chance to grab tix out of 4 pre sales this week.

U live in LA supre? Is the forum so bad that you'd drive/fly up there? I live in between SF and LA..so they are both equal distance. What do you do for work? I'm jealous you get to so many shows. I'm a bean counter.

Where is BMack? The LIARS are now opening for Interpol, that is fucking sick, I'm sure he would get a kick out of that.

I am semi "anti arena" when it comes to things. There are exceptions to the rule and I would rather spend a weekend in S.F. and see them play than like a random weeknight here in L.A. and deal with traffic and all that and not be up front either.

Calla's not opening on the whole tour

I'm honestly a little pissed about Liars opening for Interpol. Interpol's live show is so uninspiring for me. I really hope Liars do their own tour.

They are like never going to play that, unless the next round has them switchign it up a lot.

Their refusal to play "Specialist" is an obvious attempt to get more money out of gullible fans. That's why they didn't play it at all in 2004 but did almost every night in 2005...leave the audience unfulfilled so they feel they have to come back for more. You know what, fuck Interpol. Antics is shit and the new one is better so far but still not a classic...and they aren't even very good live. Maybe if they focus more on being good live and less on being fashionable and selling out, or remember how to write great music, I'll see them next year.

bullshit... liars first tour off and it's with a shitty as fuck band... i would have to pay 35$ bucks and see them in a huge venue... lame after seeing them in a 350 person gig last time round... fuck this. i'll pass.

We get Interpol with Calla (not Liars - they are the second half openers) in a medium-sized venue here in C-bus (about 2000) - it hasn't sold out yet, but I hear its very close.
