Wow the logo is so cliche. And when did China get the "Most Mysterious" title?

So where is it going to be held? The coast? The mountains?

By a sacred mountain in China? i don't know if this is a plus. i forget where i read the premise, but one of the main reasons the majority of Survivors were on islands was skin. It was hot and surrounded by water, so it was natural for people to strip down to a very small amount of clothing. Not that seeing people hanging out on beaches in a couple of buffs moaning about how somebody doesn't do shit while they gather fire wood is the reason i watch the show (love of the game baby!) i am a little concerned (like every season) it won't live up to the last, but here's to being riveted into another exploration of the microcosim of the evolution of society.

Chicken = moron. That was one of the most ridiculous Survivor conversations ever...the one between him and Peh Gee. Is Peh Gee some kind of Chinese bastardization of Peggy? I hope not. If it is, than that ridiculous conversation was conducted by two of the most ridiculously named contestants ever. Although Frosti would give either a run for their money...

James was a great find by casting. I can't wait to see how he plays out. He probably has no shot at winning, though.

This is the first time I ever watched this show.I watched it because I was over at my brother's house earlier this year and I was forced to sit through half an episode (the one where the tribe got to pick 2 people from the other side).
My brother calmly explained the politics to me,and I was hooked for the rest of the season.
I have to say my favorite moments on the show are right after someone has won immunity, and they show everyone coming back to camp and lobbying that person in every way. Also right when they get back from a reward, and you see how everyone is butt-hurt from not being picked.
Why was I too cool for Survivor so many years?

Amanda blew it several times towards the end of the game.If she had voted against Todd instead of Denise, she might have gotten her vote on the jury, and it was just plain stupid admitting to everyone that she was behind getting rid of James.I think she cost herself a few votes and the game right there.

12-17-2007, 07:39 AM

12-17-2007, 07:46 AM
I think it kinda does show that. Isn't that how Richard Hatch won the first one.. being just like Todd? I mean, all those people dont really know how much Todd lied... it's not like they watched the show like we did before they voted. They just see his kiss ass side and then oops, they are gone.

At the end when they ask them all the questions before they vote... I can hardly watch that.. I get so embarassed for them, the jury. They all just look like bitter little children who talk about their feelings and hate the other people just because they won... when really.. they were trying to do that the whole time and just didn't get as far... They pretend like they are so holy and didn't hurt anyone's feelings or do anything betraying... yeah, I can hardly watch it. Makes me cringe.

Denise blew it. I wanted her to win but she should have gone with PEE GEE and when she didn't, she sealed her fate. I hate Courtney: "This isn't welfare, she doesn't just get the money because she fails at life."

The worst part is that I was finally able to watch the finale and the reunion (until I turned it off because it was boring) and cbs.com fucking cut off the part where you see the jury questioning the finalists, so I have no idea how Todd pulled that shit off. His hair is hideous. I also don't get why there were three finalists? When did they start doing that? I need a recapalapa of what happened in between Denise's booting and the reunion show.

I need a recapalapa of what happened in between Denise's booting and the reunion show.
Basically,Jean Robert got up and told everyone that he was equally pissed off at all three, and swore he wouldn't vote for any of them, but now he was forced to pick one,so convince him.
Todd was smart and stroked his ego by saying that all along he recognized his biggest threat was Jean-Robert,and that's why he took him out early. One of the girls got up and was really stupid (the blonde one that was in love with Eric) and said convince me to vote one of the others out.She was really flustered and yammering, and somehow Todd came out like the voice of reason, and I think this won him a few votes. They showed Denise voting for Todd I believe, beacause she was still stung by Amanda's not falling for her heart-felt plea.Overall,Amanda had this sort of hurt puppy dog look on her face, that would really irk me if she had cost me a million dollars, while Todd had a defiant "You're an idiot for not beating me in the game" attitude that all Americans can identify with.

OK,one thing has been bugging me since the show ended. On the last episode they showed a clip from a previous episode where James said he got started as a gravedigger at 11 because,"they handed me a shovel, and said get digging!"
Recently my son,who is 10,and a few of his friends, buried his iguana in our backyard. It took them about 2 hours to dig 2 feet down.
Does the state of Louisiana really employ 11-year-olds with shovels to intern people?
"Gravedigger" sounds really cool on the intros, especially alongside "Professional Gambler" and "Lunch-Lady",but there is something fishy about it.Do real gravediggers need the physique of an NFL player to do their job?Aren't bulldozers used at some point?

thelastgreatman
12-21-2007, 02:04 AM
I knew a professional gravedigger who was seven feet tall about about 380 pounds, no foolsies. I'm not disagreeing with your theory, in fact I'd bet it's at least 75 percent accurate just because it's reality television, just sayin':

Bulldozers get the vast majority of the dirt out of the way, but they still need a dude with a shovel to make it nice and cubic. Tossing even a half-shovelful of dirt up that high is fucking hard once you've done it about ten times, much less fifty.

Amanda blew it during the Q&A

Amen. I was disappointed because she was my pony. If she had just been proud of the fact that she outsmarted other players in a way that flattered their ego (as Todd did) as well as gave them respect, she could have won the show. It's like she'd never seen another season of Survivor. You don't do puppy eyes at final tribal. It's time to give respect (much love) and praise yourself for doing what you did - not apologizing for it.

Courtney surprised me. She was way funnier than I gave her credit for. The reunion show had all these clips of her being funny in a cute way - I didn't catch that so easily watching the show. The Denise comment was so over the line it made me embarrassed for her, though.

Oh, Denise. The Denise thing was so terrible it was almost funny. I didn't think so when I watched it - I welled up. But then I was explaining it to someone else and I realized that it was so heart-breaking it almost seemed comical. "Denise lost because everyone thought she was too nice. Then Denise said that she was demoted because she was too recognizable and now she's a janitor. Then she asked America for a job because she was looking for a new one. Then Probst read off a quote about how Denise "sucks at life" and the audience went 'awwwww'. Then the camera panned to Denise's family at an unflattering, up your nose camera angle. Then Denise explained her mullet as something to, 'still be a woman to her husband even though the job (she no longer has) made her chop it off.' Then Denise once again welled up with tears. Then Burnett offered to give her some money and Denise cried."

It was horrible and I don't mean to suggest anything about it was funny. But it was just one slam after another until the end there and I was ready for someone to just jump out of the audience and strangle her right there on the stage.

People that apologize too much get disrespected and you don't have confidence in them. Not always - but that's a fact about life. It's the same reason everyone thinks Pot is the shit - if Pot made it to the end of Survivor, he would win. People adhere to confidence with no apologies - even when it's kind of dick...and online...and then ESPECIALLY if

Isn't it odd that your compared reality TV to someone from a message board?
