I very much doubt Pavement are getting back together anytime soon as cool as that would be.

On a side note, you all really should give Malkmus & The Jicks a closer listen and go see them live. Top 5 of the year for me so far ....

Malk, Ibold, Nastanovich and Spiral Stairs have all said that they'd strongly consider doing the Matador 20th show. And, Malk played with Bob last year at Pitchfork with Ibold dancing a waltz with Nastanovich while Steven played We Dance. The tensions are not there anymore, and I could see it coming.

The new Malkmus album is great, and the live band is a beast. I saw them late last year, and it was fantastic.

Oh my god. October is WAY too full of shows I want to go to. It is actually insane. Actually, the next few months are going to be crazy for me. I think I am going to need a second job if I want to keep going to all these shows.

Aug 19 Radiohead
Aug 20 Radiohead
Sept 2 Battles
Sept 14 Bad Religion
Sept 18 Reel Big Fish
Sept 25 A Place To Bury Strangers
Oct 4 Jamie Lidell
Oct 4 dan le sac vs Scroobius Pip
Oct 5 Horrorpops
Oct 7 Sigur Ros
Oct 10 Gogol Bordello
Oct 11 Gogol Bordello
Oct 14 Flogging Molly
Nov 19 Yeasayer
Dec 2 Metallica

Not only that, but there are a couple other shows I am thinking of attending. The days between Oct 4 -14 are going to be rediculous. I really looking forward towards those 10 days. I hope I don't have any papers due around then though.
Also, just over a month of no shows between Flogging Molly and Yeasayer? I am probably going to go into withdrawl.

There's also going to be a benefit for Obama on 9/23 that Tenacious D are supposedly playing it, I may look into trying to attend that based on who else plays and how much the tickets are.

Where is this supposed to be?

Saw the kickoff for the 802 tour with Nico Muhly, Sam Amidon, and Doveman.

It was a mixed bag, but when it was up it was incredible. Sam Amidon's stuff is understated, but really impressive and interesting. Doveman's set was atrocious. Two of Nico Muhly's pieces were the best live things I'd seen all year (the finale was a 15 minute long masterpiece that sent tingling down my spine multiple times), the rest was hit and miss.

If you don't know Nico Muhly is a classically trained composer who has done arrangements for Bjork, Antony, and Grizzly Bear. His new album Mothertongues is fantastic.

And Confessions On A Dancefloor is one of the best house albums ever.

And no, Im not kidding about Janet.
And yeah, i wish she'd like...NOT lip synch.
But I know she does a mix of both live and lip synching.
But back in the old days, she would do everything live (pre All For You days).
But she hasn't toured since ALL FOR YOU, so I'm interested...

I got a lawyer and a manager, an agent and a chef
Three nannies, an assistant and a driver and a jet
A trainer and a butler and a bodyguard or five
A gardener and a stylist, do you think I’m satisfied
I’d like to express my extreme point of view
I’m not a Christian and I’m not a Jew
I’m just livin’ out the American dream
And I just realized that nothin’ is what it seems

what album are these lyrics from?

And how long did each act get roughly last year?

Also, with the rotating stage business... they couldn't hold NIN's light show.

Weak replacement. Oh well, for $15 you can't complain.

I don't figure Sam as a weak replacement. Isaac would have never had a chance as an individual artist if it weren't for Sam and Dave, and Sam is arguably the better singer. I'm more likely to go with Sam doing the show. He'll have a counter, and that means that he'll do Hold On, I'm Coming, and it's more possible that Donald Dunn and Steve Cropper will be there, as they're good friends with Sam.

And, Menomena write great pop songs. I wouldn't be surprised if they get Death Cab sized in a few years. They have the perseverence and the drive to do it. And, they're such a good band. I love those guys.

Will definitely be at the Wiltern show. I'm really glad they're coming back since I missed their show at the Avalon.

Kind of a weird schedule. Illinois near the end of September, Toronto a month later, and then Alabama a few weeks after that. When does California fit in with all this?

And $10 a ticket? See them while you can. If pitchfork finally gives their next album the 9.something that Citrus deserved, then it's all over and they'll be playing much bigger venues for much more money.
