There has been a LOT of talk about which bands so and so would love to see reunite for Coachella, so I thought i'd throw my two cents in and maybe pull a couple out of my ass that haven't been brought up yet...

-Veruca Salt (am I the only one who would love to hear Shutterbug or Seether at Coachella??)
-Star 69
-Radio Iodine
-Poe
-Elastica
-Faith No More
-Stabbing Westward
-Ennis Bee
-007
-Tenacious D
-Our Lady Peace
-Primus
-Save Ferris
-Guano Apes
-K's Choice
-Imperial Teen
-White Zombie (yeah, snowball's chance in hell, but yeah...)

Imperial Teen would be pretty bitchin'.

As Imperial Teen played here in PDX just a few weeks ago, I'm sure they'd be amused to hear that people are clamoring for a reunion.

I'm just saying in general. I know labeling them a reunion is erroneous, because last I checked bands who released an album this year aren't reunion acts.

FINE. They've already 'reunited'... i still think it qualifies though...

Would anyone have called RATM's sets at Rock the Bells NOT reunion shows, just because they had already 'reunited' at Coachella??

i'm down with that. i should have seen them when they played on the warped tour back in 98. the only time that tour has stopped in oklahoma...

this year has been good for ska music. you got all these new albums from big d, streetlight manifesto, mustard plug, the toasters, the pietasters, bedouin soundclash, and voodoo glow skulls.

still though, operation ivy is probably one of my favorites besides suicide machines.

The new Breeders record is scheduled to be released in April 2008. There are 13 songs. Mando Lopez is still on bass, Jose Medeles on drums, Kelley Deal, my evil twin, on guitar and vocals, and I'm playing guitar and vocals.

The songs are just songs. But for instance, one song Kelley and I did live. She played stand-up bass and I played acoustic guitar while we sang. Steve Albini taped it live like that. Yet another song has Kelley playing bass and Mando playing rhythm guitar. I'm playing the lead and Kelley and I are singing throughout. On song has Mando playing a lead guitar which Albini then backward masked. One song has three, count 'em, three basses on it....

I saw The Breeders the last time they 'reunited' (circa '01 i think), they were decent...

I don't think Reel Big Fish qualify as a reunion (unless we're talking original lineups or something)...

That 98 reunion doesnt count. Neither Jerry nor Terry were part of the reuinion. I am talking about a full on Specials reunion! However, even if it was a half-asses Specials reunion... I would still go and I know it would be a blast.

And yeah, the New Big D album is great. They would be awesome at Coachella. The Toasters would be a great Coachella addition too. After all, they are pretty much the bridge between 2Tone and Third Wave.

I saw Suicide Machines at Warped 03. Oh man do they ever put on a kick ass show! Its too bad they broke up.

Ummm... Reel Big Fish's new album came out last year. Have you not heard it? If you would like to keep your memory of the band intact... I suggest not checking it out.

I like that Faith No More is rumored each year. Make this shit happen Patton. You are there every year anyway.

Patton has actually only been at two Coachella. Fantomas in '05 and Peeping Tom in '07. But at the end of Peeping Toms set he said, and I quote, "See you all... next year?" after which he proceeded to shrug his shoulders and smile.
Also, I dont think FNM are neccessarily rumoured every year... more like talked about. It shows that people consistently want them to get back together though. I think a Faith No More reunion will happen one day. Mike Patton will come around eventually...

I was thinking in Blur until I read this (http://comment.independent.co.uk/columnists/alex_james/article3263439.ece) yesterday

Alex James: The Great Escape

Last week, it looked for a minute as if Blur might get back together to headline Glastonbury next year. Then it was all off again just as quickly. Not happening.Still, Geronimo had asked me to come to his playgroup to sing some songs on Friday, so it wasn't the end of the world. I'm still in showbusiness, baby. It was a big day at playschool, too, the last one of the year, with a party and Father Christmas and presents.

...

But Geronimo wasn't having Jonah Lewie. There were musical differences creeping in already, so we left the stage. It was a big success, though. Fifteen minutes of loveliness. I rather wanted my wife and my children to see me doing my old job in front of a hundred thousand people as the sun went down on the summer solstice. Glastonbury would have been great, but second on the bill to Father Christmas was kind of more important, and probably better fun.

I love two Sublime albums, I hate Sublime fans. But as far as the Beatles/Sublime thing goes, well, you still gotta remember... The Beatles didn't make anything more impressive than Sublime until about their 7th or 8th album, something like that.

Don't forget before you start throwing stones--they had to make Love Love Me Do and I Saw Her Standing There and all that other simplistic pop crap for years before they showed any depth whatsoever.

The acoustic version of Pool Shark, however, seems to be equally as moving as a lot of The Beatles best songs in that style--one voice, one acoustic guitar. Pool Shark or Blackbird? I dunno, really. Blackbird's beautiful, but Pool Shark hits me hard.

i used to think that soundgarden was all about chris cornell - because of his unique voice. Now i realize that cornell is a cheesy loser who used to be part of an awesome band. Audioslave sucks. Chris cornell solo sucks. Soundgarden is awesome, and it's really about Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil. Sure, they never would have gotten anywhere without Cornell, but Soundgarden would never have made great music if it wasnt for those two.

01-15-2008, 10:13 AM
Galactic drummer Stanton Moore has recently completed a series of studio sessions with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello and rapper Boots Riley. The unlikely trio are scheduled to release the project under the name the Street Sweeper via Epic Records this spring. As first reported by New Orleans’ The Times-Picayune, Moore first met Morello at a November 2006 Future of Music Coalition benefit concert held at Tipitina's and the new friends first bonded while standing at the bar of Ernie K-Doe's Mother-in-Law Lounge. Meanwhile, Boots Riley is one of the many MCs who appeared on Galactic’s 2007 hip-hop disc, From the Corner to the Block.

Morello recently reunited with his Rage Against the Machine bandmates for a series of shows, including an appearance at October’s Vegoose (an event which is co-produced by Galactic managers Superfly Presents). The guitarist also performed at Bonnaroo as The Nightwatchman.
