Justice got 3 nominations.
Bjork got 1.
Lily Allen got 1.
*random thought ends*
And aside from her fucked up life, Amy deserves the best new artist win. In addition to album of the year...not that Im saying her album was the best thing this year, but inside the catagory it is...

You posted the wrong year's list, Ardentbiscuit. Though I'm curious, who won Best Dance Album that year: Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, or LCD Soundsystem?

Whats funny is "Delilah " is done acoustically without the rest of the band. Thats basically the only song they play out here of the Plain White Tees....and theyre going to win a grammy for it? I wonder what the rest of the band thinks, lol...

Chemical Brothers.
Personally, I think LCD deserved that one (comparing their self titled LP to Human After All).

Hold on, if Tom Waits wins best Americana album, does that mean he has to get up and get an acceptance speech?
I'm warming up the DVR already.

Feist as a new artist? Does Mr. Grammy live under a rock? Let It Die was such a solid album.

Already said 100 times, but why would you be surprised? Especially for "Record Of The Year".
The Grammy's aren't quite as bad as the AMAs...there are usually some good things nominated, and occasionally something good will win. But "Record Of The Year" is usually something...not shitty, but just dull and overplayed. If a good artist does win, it's usually for something that's completely mediocre. For example, U2 has two Record Of The Year awards, from 2 years in a row..."Walk On" and "Beautiful Day". Decent songs, but I wouldn't even put them in U2's top 100.
It's usually either a bland new artist, or someone in the decline of their career. Plain White T's fit the first catagory, and probably the second.

There are a 110 categories as far as I know there isn't a gay category but you can always complain to them. They add categories all the time.
As you can see by the incorrect list I posted (sorry again) they only had a 108 categories at that time. Don't worry I won't post the correct one.
It's amazing to me how the show is around 2 to 3 hours and they only actually present very few of of those categories.

I just wanted to point this out, because My Blue Heaven was on TV the other night, and my wife and I wondered if he was dead or something. He just kind of vanished after that awful Flintstones movie.
How come SCTV was SO funny (though it doesn't hold up now) and all those people had such mediocre careers, but all the SNL people become big stars?

Spoon deserved a nomination here, it really pisses me off that they got overlooked. The Reminder is a pop album, but Alright Still is alternative. Riiight.
That being said, this is The Arcade Fire's to win, and probably deservedly so.

Indie? No way. Alternative? Given the watering down of the term, yes.
And I think that Feist is being nominated for the pop categories solely because of the Apple iPod nano ads, which is kinda depressing.

1. Tv commercials (usually ipod, sometimes cars and other stuff).

The person who said huh probably doesn't work in a large office or meet with the public in general.
Most people I work with and the general public I deal with find out about songs from tv. commercials and/or tv shows.
One agent asked me the other day, what's that car song from Gray's Anatomy?
Or what's that song from the Universal studios ad.
Or what's that counting song from the Ipod ad.
Etc.
It seems like the general public is exposed to songs because of tv shows and product commercials. I remember when ad agencies and tv. shows use to actually make original songs. What a concept.
It seems like lots of people are getting into Ingrid Michaelson, she has that song in the Old Navy commercial.
It's a really odd trend to me.

either LCD or the Chems should get best electronic album. Justice? I'm sorry, I like the album, but its too repetitive (and seriously, any album that contains a song as atrociously bad as The Party should not even come close to winning any kind of positive award).
I won't even start on Shiny Toy Guns...

Plain White T's is song of the year.
I'm not sure if they got nominated for anything else. I'm too lazy to look at the list again.
That's true, too many sub categories would get out of control.
I also think they should stop creating new awards shows.
The Billboard awards are the lamest, ever award is based solely on sales.

Wow, I can't believe that Plain White T's song made it.. It is way to overplayed here in SF and it's such a simple, yet horrible song I can't understand how anyone would want it nominated. It sounds like it was recorded as a single track on garageband too.. Simply it's a bunch of shat.

I only one I know for sure playing the Grammys is Foo Fighters because Kroq is giving away tickets to them perform there.
I unfortunately went to this show sponsered by AT&T or something and my friend told me QOTSA were playing. The curtain opens and it's Plain White T's.
I asked one of the employees and he's said, Queens said they never agreed to do this show and they cancelled.
Boo to my friend for not checking ahead before we went there.
It was the most horrendous night of my life, besides the time I took a date to see the band she picked (which was the Fray by the way). Ugh that was the most painful night of my life if she wasn't so cute I wouldn't have been there. They even did this wretched cover of "Hips don't lie" ugh.
