I don't think not bashing Brokendoll unmercilessly is the same as campaigning for her. I actually used to be pretty vicious to her, but there was an earlier outburst of negativity after she first posted her picture (the face, not the vag) to which hawkingvsreeve kind of took the high road, and it made me realize how completely people bash her without so much as giving it a second thought. Since then, I've tried to keep from attacking her.
Also, she's a classic troll: the best way to make her go away is to not let her get your goat.

Basically, you didn't really defend Brokendoll so much as you called everyone out for being the assholes they were. I was surprised and, to a lesser extent, inspired. It was one of the few examples on the board that showed that people aren't completely worthless.

Ok I just went through the entire post your picture thread looking for it. It was Amy who was saying a lot of that I think. I was just agreeing with her. I don't really have an opinion either way about Brokendoll, which I am sure some people find surprising. I don't really read many of her posts in full so I guess she just doesn't bother me. I do think the shit she gets is a little excessive, even if it is her that is instigating some of it. I don't know. I hate to sound all cliquey or faux nostalgic or whatever, but shit like this didn't use to happen on here like it does now. Granted this was 2 years ago I am talking about, but still, everybody was cool with each other (for the most part), and it just wasn't what it is now. I don't know why it's changed, I really don't. And I mean I am not naive enough to expect everybody to like everyone else, but I guess I just feel the respect level was a lot higher for fellow message board members. It would be nice to see that come back, but unfortunately I don't think we are going to see that happen. I could be wrong though. Who knows.
Fuck. It's 3am.

This is, in essence, what you said in the picture thread, and after I read it in there I decided it was a goal worth pursuing. I think it's possible to completely rip each other to shreds for fun and still maintain a common decency.

Captain Funk a Ho, don't be dimwitted. It was a lighthearted feel-good jokethread about post count. I can't believe I have to explain this. Gaypalmsprings went to my high school and our mascot was a maple leaf. He was making reference to that. It's something we joke around about often, in many threads. Do you feel better now? Because I just feel disappointed and a little empty inside.

Clearly.
Marooko, have you ever tried playing pingpong with nobody on the other side of the table? You serve, and nobody hits it back. So you serve again. And again, nobody hits it back. And et cetera.
I was making a little joke about the balls. Because this manner of pingpong physically takes a lot of balls. A lot of pingpong balls.

Well, not really. Unless "iis" is a real Latin word...
Actually, I don't find "iis" by itself, but it is part of a couple words- here's that part of the Lipsum:
Section 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum", written by Cicero in 45 BC
1914 translation by H. Rackham
"On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound to ensue; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through weakness of will, which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain. These cases are perfectly simple and easy to distinguish. In a free hour, when our power of choice is untrammelled and when nothing prevents our being able to do what we like best, every pleasure is to be welcomed and every pain avoided. But in certain circumstances and owing to the claims of duty or the obligations of business it will frequently occur that pleasures have to be repudiated and annoyances accepted. The wise man therefore always holds in these matters to this principle of selection: he rejects pleasures to secure other greater pleasures, or else he endures pains to avoid worse pains."
