Live 105 in SF just said that Blur is in the studio working on a new album due out in 2008. I called in and they mentioned that a tour is also in the works.

What would you think of Blur at Coachella?

i think Damon Albarn in any form would be great. I liked the good the bad and the queen last year.

Too bad the sound from Tiesto leaked into their set though.

I would love that, but Damon Albarn keeps on making iffy statements. I hope that he's just feeding us misinformation to catch us off guard...

I thought The Good, The Bad & The Queen were already working on the next album though. This is why Simon Tong is not playing with The Verve in their reunion. Damon said the album was going to start recording in September, as in last September. If anything is going to come out in 2008 by Damon Albarn, I'll put my money on that, and not Blur.

But believe me, just look at my avatar, I need Blur to return.

i coulda sworn i read something confirming this last year. i just didn't want to say anything and look like an idiot, because of all the contradictory articles around and subsequent flaming i would receive from you coxuckaz. lol

I don't think so (http://comment.independent.co.uk/columnists/alex_james/article3263439.ece)

Alex James: The Great Escape

Last week, it looked for a minute as if Blur might get back together to headline Glastonbury next year. Then it was all off again just as quickly. Not happening.Still, Geronimo had asked me to come to his playgroup to sing some songs on Friday, so it wasn't the end of the world. I'm still in showbusiness, baby. It was a big day at playschool, too, the last one of the year, with a party and Father Christmas and presents.

...

But Geronimo wasn't having Jonah Lewie. There were musical differences creeping in already, so we left the stage. It was a big success, though. Fifteen minutes of loveliness. I rather wanted my wife and my children to see me doing my old job in front of a hundred thousand people as the sun went down on the summer solstice. Glastonbury would have been great, but second on the bill to Father Christmas was kind of more important, and probably better fun.

I really liked them in 2003.

Damon didn't seem like he was into it...I read in a interview later that he had stomach issues during the performance....from mexican food apparently...

Loved Blur on their 2003 tour, although I didn't make Coachella that year. I would definitely like to see them at Coachella some year.

has any one heard d-sides? I was going to pick it up but it was 20 bucks. I decided I would wait till it goes down.

Yeah I have heard a lot of reports that says they aren't getting back together. The guys at the station said they heard about the reunion from Blur's record label. The DJ guaranteed a new album. But I have my doubts.

As for D-sides, it is a solid collection with some great remixes.

I loved blur in 2003. in fact they were my favorite performance that year. I'd love to see them again, I've also seen gorillaz and tgtbatq. I love Damon's bands, and I'd be really excited if they did another blur album & tour.

having said that, no-one knows anything, and nothing is confirmed or denied. lots of people think they know something, but they don't. if it were confirmed, more than one dj would be talking about it.

Blur is not BLur without Coxon. His guitarwork is a critical part of their sound and cannot be replaced.

True, but to an extent. I still believe Think Tank was an excellent album by any standards.

I don't think Coxon has officially rejoined BLur, I think COxon and Albur are just on speaking terms but nothing further yet.
