Looking forward to Mum, The National, and Fatboy Slim, but I went with Raconteurs. I thought they stole the show at Lolla '06, especially when they covered "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)." And with an iffy Friday lineup so far imo, Raconteurs will be even more impressive I think.

The National reminds me of The Frames from Coachella '07

Pendulum will either be totally sick or totally boring...cause that's generally how Drum & Bass is. Either deep, intense melodies, or just the same beat for hours with some idiot on a microphone.

Madness is the best band playing at Coachella this year. Period.
Battles are pretty high on my priorities list as well.
Actually, Friday kicks ass this year. Its definately my favorite day. I also really hope Fatboy Slim conflict with Jack Johnson. That would be perfect. I would be so choked if Fatboy conflicted with Madness though....

So, Battles is pretty awesome. Should I let my ethnic friends know to stay away from the Madness show? I don't want anyone being attacked by skinheads on Friday, I wouldn't want them missing Portishead.
I didn't see a Pendulum video in your list btw. Here's one with a fat dancing guy.

Those are the three bands I've never heard of before today. I'm open to seeing any/all of them now.

That new Madness song kind of blows, but they look pretty good as far as rockin-the-house ability. As long as they stick to the classics, should be pretty sweet.

At the Slightly Stoopid New Years show they lit probably 10 Joints and kept passing them into the audience and when a guy spilled his beer Kyle(guitar/Bass player) Gave him a sack right in the middle of a song. They will be the most moked out band of coachella

Yes, I also really like Slightly Stooopid. I'm impressed by the amount of people which don't like or don't even know them.
It reminds me a lot Sublime, which is awesome.

Madness were pretty fun to watch, but I think seeing them once was good enough for me. It was awesome just hearing the intro to One Step Beyond live. I think I'm most looking forward to The Swell Season and Stars on Friday. Mum also.

Yeah, I think that's kind of the problem. They need to stop trying to replace Sublime. Sublime did it well, others can't pull it off (yet). Slightly Stoopid is a lot better than Pepper though, thank God Coachella didn't go there.
This white boy reggae rock talk has just made me realize how much cooler it would be to see 311 headline Coachella than Jack Johnson. I don't think 311 is headliner material either, but it'd be a lot more satisfying than Jack. It'd be a lot more satisfying than jack too.

at one time I did like sublime, when I was really into ska
for some reason I never got into reggae, and that's when it clicked that I didn't really like sublime--just because date rape was a great song doesn't mean I like the whole band

I think Madness is the most historically epic band (apart from Roger Waters)
anyone who hasn't heard and loved "Our House" probably doesn't speak English
and anyone who's ever liked Ska will go nuts especially if they play one step beyond haha omg that'll be amazing

I have to disagree with you about Slightly Stoopid, they are not any new band trying to replace Sublime!?!? They simply play the same music style as Sublime, and they are actually from the same decade, Slightly Stoopid started in 1995.
I have seen them live, and they are great fun.
311 would be awesome.
