I have to assume all the haters are big fans of the Volta and only love music if it's "challenging" and "rocks hard"...they are ten times better than the likes of regina spektor and other chickie bands who've played before. I, too, bought The Con, because my sampling at Rasputin sounded good. Now, whenever I play my mp3 player on shuffle and it lands on Tegan and Sara, I cringe and skip to the next track.

I don't know what most peoples problem is with pop music, and I really don't get the animosity towards a couple of song writers who play into it. especially when they can write and produce their own music.
There is no "gimmic" here, they have 5 albums and were the first Canadian act signed to Neil Youngs Record Label.

I'm saying this as a person who has had Sonic Youth, Joy Division and Sisters of Mercy on repeat on my ipod for a like a week now.
But as a Canadian maybe I don't know any better.

I was at coachella last year and I can't think of to many acts that would help diversify this line up as much as these two.

But then again I skipped day 2 last year over overwhelming disappointment that the RHCP were closing. I was at the Palms in Vegas Watching Tool instead.
