All of this sounds just wonderful, but why announce this on KROQ??!! I understand its the biggest rock station in SoCal and whatnot, but they hardly play any of the bands being rumored to play or the handful of bands that have been confirmed. They should announce the line-up on KCRW instead, at least they play the bands that will end up being at Coachella.

Live 105 (105.3) in San francisco is doing the same thing. They said, Monday Morning at 7:20. They are also giving away "free tickets, before you can buy them". you can listen online at www.live105.com. I kinda beleive this, even though it's never happened like this before. I thinking maybe it will be up on Coachella.com around 1am on Monday? I'll probably wait up to see. It's not ussually announced that early though. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

from my past ex***ience announcements on the radio always drag ass and suck and usually the website gets the word out hours before because officially they are to be the first to announce it, then the outlets can go from there and send it to their listener/viewership whatever the outlet is. regardless if i have to make a quick ***diction/wishlist for the headliners im going with:

rage is my #1 hope but its still just a rumor but its a good rumor..

i personally think corgan will wait and let the pumpkins debut where they are from and perform in Chicago at lollapalooza.

I used to LOVE KROQ. Growing up in the Midwest, KROQ was the envy of every music listener. Friends would vacation to California and come home and say, "There was this really cool radio station in Los Angeles. It was called KROQ." Flash forward to 1979 when I first visited LA (some friends from the Midwest had moved to LA) and heard KROQ for the very first time. I remember hearing R.E.M., The Police, Rodney on the R.O.Q., Jed The Fish, etc. etc. etc. for the very first time. For the very first time, I felt real. I felt alive. I knew. I knew. I knew what people meant who said, "You gotta hear this radio station, KROQ." I knew. I knew what they meant. That was then, this is now..........flash forward to 2007. The other day, I was driving into LA on my way to make a pilgrimage to Amoeba Music on Sunset (the best CD new & used store in the world, as far as I'm concerned). I found myself station-hopping, because KROQ just couldn't hold me interest. What happened? What the hell happened? The station I envied as a small town Ohio kid from the Midwest, the station I fell in love with when I first visited California in 1979, totally sucks now. They play the same s--t over and over, and it's all--dare I say--mainstream, for lack of a better word. I do miss the daze of "inde" rock.....when DJs played whatever the hell they wanted to play........heard some good s--t then, and some schlock, granted.....but I really liked KROQ back then.....I sure do miss them........and as far as KROQ having an exclusive tomorrow (Monday), who needs them when the LA Times has already blown their cover? KROQ is just another Corporate Rock station. They might as well sell their souls to Clearchannel.......or Ticketbastard.......

Kroq got REALLY crappy once Viacom (i believe) bought them out.. they weren't so bad before..

I don't really hate Kevin and Bean, they play shitty music.. but they have to.. they have some funny shit on there sometimes and Ralph Garman is funny as hell... I'll probably be checking the site out at midnight.. and might try to win tickets.. but that seems impossible.

KCRW does (in my opinion) cater more towards coachella bands and probably gives them more play than KROQ.. but they do not have nearly as much money (Public Radio) as KROQ, but they still give away tickets.. My subscribtion is up this month.. I am thinking about re-subscribing.. I won free Detour tickets and have used the fringe benefits card at MOCA.. wow.. i got way off topic..
