They were at Vegoose last year. I am pretty sure they have not broken up.

No i had heard this too that they broke up it was not until after vegoose though this was very recent, i was hoping they would still be at coachella, i heard they were apart in December but i had not heard any news since then so i did not really consider it to be any big split, figured just time off but it could be official

They did NOT break up. Richard left the group. He wasn't even on their US tour, so it is not a big deal. UNKLE is Lavelle's baby.

Ty for good news, now were in buisness, I would love if they were added to friday (goldfrapp too) wishing that it would go like Midnight juggernauts in the gobi followed by unkle, that would really be a good back to back show

Lavelle should put a revolving door in his studio. I bet this new UNKLE member quits in less than 6 months.

....

"After UNKLE's first ever tour of the U.S. this summer, oddly sans longtime collaborator Richard File, suspicion arose -- but now it's official. After ten year together, numerous albums, and numerous other collaborations, project principal James Lavelle has split with File, a decision a web post calls "mutual and amicable." "Rich will be focusing on his new band, We Fell to Earth, who are currently in the studio working on their debut album," the post explained. I suppose Lavelle finally has that chance to collaborate with M. Ward."

unkle without the two of them together is no unkle of mine.

Uhh, UNKLE was in existence well before Richard File came aboard. Ever heard of DJ Shadow?

Ding!

...and James still has UNKLE dates inthe UK through the end of March. So, the show is still together, and we can continue to cross our fingers, y'all.

This has some nice potential: UNKLE re-imagining the X-Files Theme Song (http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003821805). Plus Broken gets a nice spot at the end credits of the film. Very cool.
