I usually don't start threads like this but... Seriously, we NEED these guys at Coachella. I had the small hope they were going to be there this year. I didn't expect it, but it would be a nice surprise. If not this year, lets hope for 2009.

That is all. Thank you for your time. :)

I am with you 100%... however, as posted on another thread ("What Made Milwaukee Famous"), the Violent Femmes are not playing together at this time. It's not an official breakup, but supposedly close to one.

Hahaha. I totally forgot I talked about the Violent Femmes in that thread. Either way, these guys deserve their own thread!
I don't think they are broken up though. I am pretty sure they are just on hiatus. They have gone on hiatus plenty of time before. Im sure they will be back together in time for 2009. Besides, if anyone get coax them to get back together, it will be Goldenvoice.

I've always wanted to see the femmes and sing along to "one, one, one cuz you left me and two, two, two for my family and three, three, three for my heartache and four, four, four for my headache and five, five, five for my lonely and six, six, six for my sorrow and seven, seven, seven for no tomorrow and EIGHT, EIGHT, EIGHT I FORGET WHAT EIGHT WAS FOR and nine, nine, nine for a lost god and ten, ten, ten for everything everything everything!

I saw them in the late 90s, where they co-headlined a festival with Reel Big Fish (great show). Someone hit the drummer in the head with a cup, and he was trying to figure out who did it.

Being 6'2", I stood above most others, so he kept staring at me for the rest of the set. Maybe he thought it was me, and he seemed pretty pissed about the whole thing.

Anyway, it was a great show, and I would welcome seeing them again.

I'd like to see them as I've heard from a few sources that they are lots of fun but I've pretty much been over them since jr hi...

Yes. I'd love to see them again (they came to Alaska a few years back, believe it or not), especially at Coachella, but at this point I'm not holding out a lot of hope.

Fuck. That is actually a really hard decision. I love the Violent Femmes, but I really, really want to see The Prodigy. I can't make a decision right now. When Paul Tollet comes up to me and asks which I would rather have, then I will decide.
