we did get 2 many djs in 2004. but I don't know why we didn't get them along with soulwax in 2007.

I hope they come back to L.A. as Nite Versions. Saw them at Vanguard a good while back. They played an early set as Nite Versions, Then ended the night as 2 Many DJ's. Nite versions was epic and there was hardly anyone there! Maybe 50-80 people? Then it filled up for 2 Many DJ's. People had no idea what they missed.

'most of the remixes' disc one is entirely soulwax remixes of other people's songs. individual tracks. disc two is those remixes, mixed into one long set by 2 many djs.

2manydjs generally dj much more than what is on the 'most of the remixes' cd though.

soulwax for the last few years have only toured nite versions. which you correctly pointed out to be self-remixes of one of their rock albums. they're not so much remixes actually. more like reinventions.

I'm surprised, but this live cd actually sounds better than nite versions on record. boo to it not including their live covers of their remixes of other people's songs.

lol... there's pretty much a never ending supply of 2manyDJs cds. I think a lot of them are bootlegs, but they're difficult to distinguish from legitimate releases. there's a somewhat complete guide (at least up until 2004) here: http://2manydjs.free.fr/. it's impossible to track all those down.

whatever site you got that from is fucking awful. bootlegs and mash-ups are not synonymous. I've only ever heard of them doing mashups under the name of 2 many djs. REMIXES under the soulwax name.

Question regarding the Soulwax remixes/nite versions of other bands songs:

Are the remixes produced by just Stephen and David (ie. 2manydj's) or the whole band, with drums and basslines contributed by the drummer and bassist? I know nowadays they play a bunch of the remixes live (ie. Phantom Pt. II and Robot Rock from the dvd, I've heard they do Get Innocuous remix sometimes too, and you can hear two Tiga tracks which soulwax produced one of which is Move My Body and the other I dont' remember on the live cd that comes with the dvd) with live bass and drums...

and nite versions was a remix album of the album "any minute now" then they combined the rock band aspect and the electronic aspect and started touring as soulwax nite verions and then eventually dropped the "night versions" from the name. so the soulwax we will see at hard is essentially the same band that was at coachella.
