i was eating at that King taco off the 710 freeway im sure u know it .. theres like a huge sings that says king taco if ur driving on the 710 fwy going towards pasadena . its in east la .. man they make goood tacos there but anyway i couldnt stop laughing as i was there cause i saw a tahoe rolling on some 22 inch daytons rims .. it just didnt go well with it .. then i said to my self its east la lol

And as far as SC goes... Phillips is the shit,(i would NEVER go there after dark) but isnt M&M a chain restaurant? does that count? cuz if it does i'd give it ROSCOES hands down...

I think M & M has 5 locations and Phillips has 3. Yeah, it counts. Both are family owned. Roscoes is in a league all it's own. It gets a little bready after awhile. Nothing better than that Herb's special.

I like Tepeyac for the jukebox , the taquitos, and the huevos rancheros. Oh and the guacamole.

Tepeyac is an east los landmark.... They have awesome burritos and they have a HUGE burrito that takes about 4 people to eat... i'm sure youve probably heard the name mentioned, just never paid attention to it.

now theres a restaurant ive never heard of. in south gate the best burritos and tortas are definitely from LAX tacos. The best tacos are from los lobos.


but if you want some AWESOME soul/down south cooking type food. Get on the 710 towards long beach exit willow going east, the place is named R&W. Its a shitty hole in the wall and the food takes about 20 minutes to prepare, but its fucking AMAZING!



or in bellflower on clark theres always Big Mikes... He sometimes has really good food too...

The best mexican restaurant in East LA is right off the 60 FWY on Lorena. Get off on the Lorena St. Exit. Make a left if you're on the 60 east, and a right if you're on the 60 west. It's a little shack looking place that's next to this little shopping center on Lanfranco St.

MANN, the food is awesome. Puebla style! They have this one huge taco de cesina. I'm not kidding, the thing is massive! They put aguacate on everything, it's cheap too. I recommend the taco I mentioned, and the guarache de asada.

There was an article about him in this past Sunday's LA. Times. His private collection will be at LACMA next year. Quite the shrewd art collector of mexican art.

I was on jury duty around 10 years ago in downtown. I love jury duty. You get paid and get a 2 hour lunch. Anyways, I landed up walking around Alvera street. They happen to be having a Patssi Valdez show and her mom was working the door. Very nice woman. There was this painting of a little girl in a yellow dress for 1,200 bucks. I had the money but decided not to buy it.

Starbucks sponsored the traveling show of his private art collection last year. I walk into the Starbucks in Sierra Madre and guess what's on the cover? That damm painting. Damm Cheech bought the painting!
