Last year I had 2 coleman tent fans at full speed about 6 inches from my body and it increased my comfort ~.5%. Fans do nothing unless you have a shade canopy...and even then?? still fuckin' hot

what fans actually do is heat up the air because they create friction between the blades and the air around ... besides the motor usually gets hot and therefore irradiates heat

Its actually not so much the temperature as it is the moving of air.

That said, I bought one this year and expect it to be pretty useless, but what the hell it was $10 and it moves some decent air.
