Between 3:00 - 5:00 in the Sahara on Saturday was by far the best time I've had so far at Coachella. James Zabiela had an awesome set and really impressed me. Boys Noize fucking destroyed it as expected and had the Sahara going ape shit. I was also impressed with the little of Kavinsky's set that I caught.

Tomorrow we are planning to catch Modeselektor/SMD/Justice in the Sahara. Anyone else I'm not thinking of that is a must see along those same lines?

I left "THE" tent after kavinsky for some refreshments, but made it back to be destroyed by Boys Noize. That was an assault on my ears, but I consented and loved every minute. He played the hits and showed that he was prolly the best CDJ there for the day. I was blown away by that performance, and I think Erol was too, cause his set was meh...

nice.. did he play Eating Glass by Bloc Party? I love his remix of that song.. I can only imagine what his live remix is like with the volume turned way up..

YES YES YES - I agree with this thread!

I love DJs who interact with their crowds & actually smile. And they were so busy doing great sets, no smoking nor drinking was needed by them. It was HOT, sweaty, and such a great time!

Zabelia I saw the last few minutes of and didn't really enjoy. It wasn't bad, just a bit cheesy. Boys Noize was good, but I wish he'd played less of his own productions and changed it up a little if all he was going to do was DJ set. Erol I wasn't really feeling, so I left after a few songs.

Kavinsky was also pretty decent from what I saw, but having seen him several times already, I really have to wonder how much of that set was premeditated and how much he had to practice just to get some of those mixes right.

i had no idea who he was but i wanted to see kavinsky, boys noize, and erol so i decided to stay and i'm really glad i did. the bass got so heavy that i could barely breathe.

oh and you should rename this thread to "The quadruple barrel face melt known as Kavinsky/Zabiela/Boys Noize/Erol Alkan" (even though alkan wasn't as amazing as i thought he was going to be).

boyz noize killed it and the full tent loved it.....i always wait for those moments when a dancing frenzy of thousands become one with the music and each other and boyz noize found that euphoria a number of times

Boys Noize was fucking amazing. They were only outdone by Hot Chip, IMO, but in terms of DJs, they were the kings of my Coachella. I left before Justice came on tonight but doubt they could have topped him.

If there's one thing I learned from Coachella 08, it's that Ed Banger is a bunch of fake fuckers-- Zabiela and Boys Noize are actual musicians....and Amneeziac, I felt the exact same way! Zabiela looked like he was having so much fun up there....I had never heard of him until I walked into his set early to get a good spot for BN, but I am definitely a fan now.
