Kate Nash played this year... Feist is a fit for Coachella, so she should be there but she isn't unexpected.
Probably Bad Religion or the Offspring or someone like them... I dunno, most of the bands I like are good fit for Coachella... Yeah...

Punk has never really been Coachella's thing as of yet so unless something changes I doubt either Bad Religion or the Offspring. Oh and in my opinion Bad Religion>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Offspring. Rather see some other punk bands if they are adding punk to the lineup.

And if there are going to be punk bands at coachella.. why not have the most epic fucking punk reunion anyone could possibly do right now, and get Refused? Or better yet, Black Flag, with Hank. Then again, I dunno. That might get violent.

Meh. I saw them at this show:

It was on the campus of the college I went to. Built to Spill was on right before Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. At the time, I was a pretty big Built to Spill fan, and their live show was pretty disappointing. Luckily, the Flecktones came on next and destroyed everything.
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones for Coachella 09!

Black Flag isn't the heaviest or fastest band, but yes it would be very very violent.
Same goes for Discharge.

I've been thinking Dream Theater would be great to have at Coachella. Well established, very talented, and they have a great live show.

I'm calling Muse to headline a night.
Moby will play somewhere - if its a DJ set, in the sahara, if live, then it could be anywhere.
The Prodigy will probably play to make up for what happened this year.
My Bloody Valentine will also be asked to play.

They may not have the "typical" 4 chord punk guitars... but that doesn't mean they aren't punk bands. Punk is more then just a sound. Its about their lyrics and their attitudes. Gogol Bordello and Flogging Molly both have large punk followings as well.

Good point, Rage.
Speaking of punk, would it be welcome at coachella?

you like the killers, which proves beyond argument that you are incapable of detecting fraudulent, money-making corporate engine "bands" like, well, the killers.

sorry, that was a bit of a rewind, but you know me- I don't take kindly to stupid dicks.
anyways-
I think the damned closing the outdoor theater, or ideally in a kraftwerk slot, would be amazing. unfortunately, I don't think there'e enough of a north american fan base to support them playing the main stage or outdoor anytime after five.
in which case, I'd like to see them close the mojave against a main stage headliner (this works out- it means I don't have to put up with an hour and a bit of either a re-hashed outkast greatest hits extravaganza, or (much worse, imo) a freaking jay-z set, and the people who like jay z don't have to put up with the damned)
