How close was the lightening?

I was at Lollapalooza in New Orleans in 93 or 92. (It was the year RHCP headlined.) We had heavy rain and major thunder & lightening. It was so beautiful. You could see the flashes off in the distance, but it never got that close. Eventually it opened up just in time for sunset. What a sight. We had great fun in the mud as would be expected.

I post on a forum for the 9:30 Club (venue in DC), and posted in an ulrich schnauss thread that I wanted to go and was sad that I couldnt make it cuz of the age restriction. A few days later, I got a PM from someone who works there that said he would let my friend and I in (felt sorry for us). Everything worked out really well and I had an awesome night.

Also, the venue he was playing at, the velvet lounge, was very small. only had a capacity of 150 people. Ulrich was just roaming around the entire time, and was chilling in the crowd by himself during the opening acts. Pretty sweet.
