About 9 years ago, we were all playing a game that involved Charades during Thanksgiving. My grandma was on a team with me and my cousin Adam. One of the clues was "bird." Grandma isn't very good at charades and we weren't getting what she was trying to do, even though it would be pretty easy. So she decides that giving us the finger would be the best clue for "bird". Lol. We were all so shocked and laughed our asses off. So the next month, for Christmas, my aunt and uncle gave my grandma her gift in that bag. We now use it for White Elephant exchanges. Whoever picks the gift with that bag is responsible for it for the entire year. Last year I got the bag, so I put my gift in it this year.

I'm getting a stylophone but these gakken anolog synth are cool you have to build them your self but it's easy you just follow pictures as it's in Japanese and comes with a Japanese magazine that has the history of the synth and has pictures of kraftwork at coachella, Mr. Nipples has one and I messed with it and ended up buying one for my self, it's fun

I own microKorg. It is awesome. But I couldn't afford any amplification, so I have to play through headphones or my bass amp. Still sounds ok though.

The Gakken Analog Synth like the one that I posted, you have to put it together, but they go for $60 and come with a Japanese magazine with mods, the evolution of the synth, Hard vs. Soft synth, but it's in Japanese, the Kraftwerk thing in side the magazine was cool the picture was taken this last year at Coachella

My friend got it for his birthday last year, so I'm not sure, he got an imported one I believe. The arpeggiator is a dream on those, let me tell me you. It's a cool feature on the microKORG but this is a legitimate beat-making device, and it only takes a matter of seconds. It's great when you don't have a live drummer around for jams, etc.

I'm looking at one of these myself.

The Kaossilator is fun but if you are considering buying all sorts of things, I'd hold off on it. It's a nice complementary toy, but we use the Kaoss pad itself much more frequently.

Yeah, it's very similar to the tenori-on...just 90% cheaper! haha. i really like the kaoss pad as well...but i think for now i'd be better off with the sp 404 and the electribe emx.

those things are so badass. i mean...that little arpeggiating touch pad?! it's amazing. the pink counterpart is also pretty fun, but the emx can do a lot of the same things...and the kaoss pad does what the pink one does for a cheaper price.

The Kaoss pad is seriously my favorite toy in the world. It's totally changed our band's sound. We usually run an electric guitar through a distortion pedal and then through the Kaoss pad, and it can sound pretty cool sometimes depending on the setting (particularly delay settings).

And yeah, the arpeggiator on the Kaossilator is a blast! Sometimes we just pass it around with headphones at a party and everyone just adds in a different part, pretty fun. Mostly though, it's just become a funky metronome for jamming. We need to better explore its potential, I think.

And hey, if you get an electribe, please let me know how you like it...

Yes, yes it does. I found the fannypack in one of the closets at my work office. It said something stupid like "Property of Parks and Recreation Department so don't steal this" so I puffy-painted over that. :P I know this is not really interesting but I would like to say that it came out very nicely because I resisted the very powerful urge to decorate all over so it doesn't look too tacky. It was hard not to draw a heart or a star. I'd like think I'm growing up. :)

I'm a bit afraid to bump this thread... since the Battle of Gettysburg is going on in the other ones :x

Awesome. I support all arts and crafts activities. Moreso if the PLUR is ironic. But you know, it's all interpretation.

I was quite jealous of Corinna's fannypack at Coachella last year. I'm not sure I have the fashion chops to pull it off, but after a hours of hauling stuff around and an aching shoulder, the fannypack idea was sounding really darn good.

they used to have annual balloon races by my house when i was a kid. only got to go up in one once though. it was a lot of fun, but it's kinda weird being in one spot the whole time and not really having a sense of where you'll land.

Yeah, they're the balloon races. It's actually pretty sweet getting there before dawn and seeing a bunch of glowing orbs floating around the sky. It's fucking eerie.

We just chilled at ground level and watched them hover above us all morning. I'll have to think about bringing some shrooms for enhancement next time.

BTW...I think we offered to help Algunz out with getting Izzy in and out of the fest last year...Hmm, wonder if she'd still take us up on that offer now? (Still giggling...)
