I had one bought at Disneyland when I was a little kid, but even if I still had it today, it would never fit my gigantic head today. And while that would probably make for an amusing picture, I'd prefer to join the cool kids with a hat that fit properly.

On the other hand it may be worth considering that although our headgear choices are clearly awesome, myself, Win Butler, miscorrections and Ill-Eagle have all put ourselves at a far higher risk of the much-dreaded Hat Cancer than most people are comfortable with.

Low tide on the Hudson River. That's me in the boat, my daughter in the green shorts and her friend. We paddled with a group on Sunday morning and took a break in the shallow water next to a lighthouse before following the current back.
My daughter took the trip in the kayak with me, dropping her own oars in the water every now and again to "help." It was an excellent way to start the day.

Floaters meaning bodies or turds? Neither one sounds terribly appealing.
This was actually around 90 miles north of NYC, where the air and the water are clean enough to dip a kid into without having to arrange for a tetanus shot later in the day. And even further south, the river gets something of a bad rap, but it's come a long way over the past several years. I'm going to kayak around Manhattan some time later this year, though I'll do so without the kid.

It's kinda funny to me that the guy is notably more forthright in the cosy bare-assed safety of gay surroundings. It's not like he's exactly bashful in other habitats anyway.
Works both ways though, when he played Cliquot in Dublin a while back, he said Beirut don't usually play it because "Zach is uncomfortable with the man-on-man action".

Win Butler's grandpa could invent and play this:
http://nfo.net/usa/arey.jpg
I figure if I just invent my own instrument, nobody will really know what it's supposed to sound like, so I can just insist I'm the very best at it. I might stumble when they expect me to be able to play a load of other instruments on top of that though. I guess I'll just have to stay one step ahead, and keep inventing shit sooner than they can learn to play it.
[Curious aside]
Win once told a friend of mine that he regretted learning to play the guitar when he was starting out, because it means that no matter what other instrument he learned from then on, when he sits down to write a song he still thinks in guitar. He wished he'd had to learn on something else first, like Zach Condon did after his accident.

Judging by the way she clung to my thigh, I'm going to say she's probably in the "Q" category for LGBTQ lot. But, hey, good for her! :thu

Well that is good. I would imagine there are people out there that know more about the band than actual memebers of the band. I was just teasing. As much as I love the music, I think the subject matter for Neon Bible and all the associated pamphlets and website stuff caught my imagination a little bit. Tracy Maurice, the artist who does a lot of their visual promo stuff is amazing, and I like that the band themselves put a lot of thought into finding new ways to engage the people that pay their wages. And there's something awesome about a band who'll play a song like Intervention and then let a kid backstage because she brought them cookies.

Why do people hate Passive?
I asked the same thing about zzz a long time ago. I was new and naive. I'm pretty sure I started a thread about it.

I have to say, when it comes to the ArcadeFirepalooza tour, a proven track record of spiders named for large pack carnivores might be a deciding factor.

I wrote out an entire annotated and historical explanation of the emergence of zzz's presence and its subsequent impact on board culture in that thread. Then I deleted it.
Those were different times.

Is the ArcieFirepalooza tour hitting NY? If so, my dorm apartment will have a comfy pull out couch for you and I could even be willing to give up my private bedroom for a night or two and take the couch myself. The apartment is located at Lincoln Center plaza in Manhattan with easy access to public transport. According to my residency package, my apartment will include cable television, landline telephone, wireless internet access, full kitchen and will offer "spectacular sunset views over the Hudson". The residency package also states something about "no overnight guests", but my new roommates and I have already decided that we will be violating this policy. I should note that one of my roommates is a tuba player, but he's agreed to stick to the practice rooms with that racket.
I've been told I'm a good cook. My specialties are Indian cuisine and California Pan-
Asian fusion cuisine.
Thank you. Carry on.

Best visitor presentation so far, and bear in mind I listen to Beirut, so weird old brass instruments that sound like the devil's bowel are not necessarily a problem for me.
Also, I see no mention of enormous spiders, tuba-playing or otherwise.

You're right, BD. I think we need to look into some sort of exterminator. I've seen various tiny beetles, crickets, and earwigs around recently, not to mention the wolf spider who apparently got in to gobble up all those aforementioned tasty bugs. The problem is, those type of bugs don't startle me as much as, say, cockroaches or ants, so I've been ignoring the problem.

THIS doesn't startle you as much as this?
http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w18/1BROKENDOLL/ant-1.jpg
For Christ Sakes, Amyzzz, the ant is at least clean shaven! I realize they hang in a group, but generally they're so busy working or marching that you're simply an obstacle to their project. That vicious beast above looks like some biker that's just been done wrong and is looking for someone to take his anger out on!
Why do people hate Passive?Because they, like other sheep, can't grow a fro like he does?

You're doing fine, Passive...Stick with me and you'll learn how to be disliked and not give a shit.

Just because you're in training to run, doesn't make you an expert, Randall.

I'm not there yet, but I believe we should be largely free of enormous spiders. I suppose I failed to mention that the other roommates are, respectively:
A (loud) vocalist, a composer (a percussionist, so even if he's loud he'll probably always have a decent stash of you know what), and a dancer. The dancer tells me she's an excellent baker, so she can handle dessert. Of course, all we have to do is ask her if she's gained weight and we'll get to have an extra slice for ourselves.
