Ben Folds Five to reunite…

In what surely is the biggest reunion in recent memory, Ben Folds will rejuvenate the Ben Folds Five for its first public concert in nearly 10 years later this month. On Thursday, September 18th at UNC’s Memorial Hall, Folds will be joined by Robert Sledge and Darren Jesse for a performance of the group’s 1999 album, The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner, in its entirety.

Tickets for what is being called the “Front to Back” concert will go on sale begining Monday, September 8th at noon EST via etix.com.

While no other dates have been announced, based on the recent launch of a myspace page promoting the show, we’re willing to bet more our on the way. In the meantime, Folds has a number of upcoming solo dates scheduled.

he plays so many BFF songs at his solo shows already, I can only see getting excited about this at all if they continue to do full album shows, preferably a run through Whatever and Ever Amen. now that might get my goat.

yeah. he's obviously good at the guitar. he just likes to write shitty music. that's his choice. i can't really blame the guy. i'm sure he swims in gash.

One of my most favorite t-shirts is a shirt I got at a BFF show a while ago. I always forget that it says . . . . "Kiss My Ass," on the back.
