To start the answer to this question...
do you know if this is just going to be a live show, or if it is going to include a screening of POTWND? I know some of their shows have been combined with movie screenings.
...is...
It appears so, but also from what I have heard they are playing live versions of their Get Innocuous and Phantom Part II Remixes which is going to be AWESOME.
On the down side apparently they only play for about an hour, but it is going to be a great hour. No word on the sale for the SF tix, but Erol Alkan is going to be opening up for them.

So I guess Erol gets added to Hard?

If Erol Alkan got added to HARD that would be most excellent!

I saw a video of them playing their ladytron remix as well. who knows what else they'll throw in there. if it's only an hour, probably not much.
then again, if it's only an hour, at the mezzanine, that means I actually have hope of getting out of there by 1 am.

The last open slot on the HARD line up is the opener for the SMD stage so I'm guessing it won't be him. I don't see Erol on the lineup for Border Noise on Sunday so maybe he'll play L.A. that week.

Hrmmmmm.. I am going to see Crystal Castles on the night of the SF show. Which is at the Independent and will be over early. so I could still go to mezzanine. Crystal Castles, soulwax, erol alkan, on the same night, sounds good :)

wow that doesn't sound like a bad idea. I think you'd miss erol alkan though. you wouldn't get to the mezzanine much before midnight.
cc are playing the independent the night before, however...

Yea, I already bought tickets for the Thursday show (though I could buy Wednesday and sell Thursday). I've never been to a show at Mezzanine, that I can recall, that actually got started before midnight. Might be worth a try. In fact, I am going to just tell work right now that I'm taking Halloween off. :)

Keep it mind that Soulwax is def going to 100% sell out and the place is going to be a complete mad house by the time you get there.
shakermaker113
09-05-2008, 09:58 AM
really? did their last shows at the mezz sell out?
also, while shows at that venue start notoriously late, I've never seen one where the opener began after midnight. when I've been there the headliner usually starts at 12.00 or 12.30.

I usually forget to wear a watch :) but I've been to quite a few that didn't start until closer to 1. Probably weekends though. Even just soulwax + crystal castles would be great. Now, the reality is that I will finish work that day and think "uhhhh I'm not staying up until 3". :)

I'm not sure, but this one is expected to. Also, Erol isn't confirmed yet, not even the Mezzanine people know if they are bringing an opener with them. This show is shrouded in mystery so far.

well according to the mezz 2 many djs are doing a set AFTER soulwax.
fuck it, I'm just not sleeping that night. I've never pulled an all nighter and gone to work. fuck, I should take halloween off. my precious vacation time...

They are also playing Robot Rock and a couple more songs.

they probably play robot rock more 'live' than daft punk do.
no offense to daft punk.

Indeed I was and it's this Thursday! WOO HOO! I have a feeling it won't go too late cause they already moved the doors up an hour and they need to be down in LA for HARD the next day. Either way it is going to awesome and I am way more excited to see Soulwax than what I am doing the next two nights. I have a feeling I am going to be hurting on Halloween.

Im coming up from L.A. to SF with four of my friends for the Mezzaine show. Soulwax are amazing and i really wanted a solid soulwax show...I could have went to Hard Halloween but..
1: I want a full Soulwax show..2 many Dj's + the screnning of the films..
2: It doesnt rob me of being forced to go to Hard just for Soulwax.
3: Even though Hard has a great line up, if youre like me and have a ear for good dance shows, All of these acts have already played in LA. Aside from Soulwax there is nothing RARE about any of these acts)
4: I dont have deal with 14 yr olds on Ecstacy.
5: I just love San Francisco and now i have a great excuse to get the hell out of LA..
6: And im now going to see the Juan Maclean @ the natural history museam and a friends house party after!
Trust me Hard is a great line up but I cant stand Steve Aoki sponsered events ..im glad with my SF decison!..my flight leaves on wed!

aoki isnt at HARD...just sayin (because i hate him too)
this show is going to be awesome for you though!

you know i could be wrong but it has aoki written all over it. DJ Momjeans? Aoki's lame DJ sidekick from That 70'"s show (eh)....and when Hard NYE was promoted it was pretty much viewed as his party...
one thing is you guys get a 2 many DJ's set! which will rock your socks off (Wait until you hear the 5th of Betthoven sample).and a set from Perry Farrell!..wtf?..wow..but I think its gonna be physically impossible to have that bad of a time @ Hard....Party on Ravers..

Perry is a decent Dj, im sure he is better that Aoki and Mom Jeans, gets a bit annoying when he starts screaming stuff, but could be fun.
