...and it was unbelievable. I was three feet from Eric Avery when the opening notes of "Up The Beach" rang out and I knew I was witnessing one of the greatest musical moments of my life.

We know. You've posted the setlist at least twice. Good for you.

Despite the Perry hate on here, I really do I hope they make it for '09. Perry has one of the greatest voices, and you all can just suck it.

If I saw Jane's Addiction last night I probably wouldn't be able to shut up about it either. Lucky you.

No, but trust me, if it were me gushing over a performance I saw and made topic after topic about it, I'd get shit for that too.

Dude, easy tiger. I posted the setlist last night for any non-haters that might be curious, and this post was basically to invite feedback from anyone else who might have been there. You're a pretty grumpy dude. Everything O.K.?...

I cut my finger, and now it's bleeding.
But, that Jane's show sounds great. I thought about heading out, but instead I was lazy. Probably wouldn't have gotten in anyway.

No, but trust me, if it were me gushing over a performance I saw and made topic after topic about it, I'd get shit for that too.I only see two topics and it looks like most people are coming to this thread vs the other I posted a bunch of stuff in...either way, if you were apart of something so historicly moving I wouldn't want you to get shit for it...that's a moment you want to bask in for as long as it lasts...any way passive tiger...prrrrr to you fromie (fro+homie)...

157 people huh?
SFChrissy
10-24-2008, 02:17 PM
the fire marshall restricted the capacity due to the small stage platform they set up.
FB...
OK. It might have been defining for the venue, too. I arrived around 7, about the same time the fire marshals did. They had concerns about all the juice coming into La Cita (an outside generator was used), and the myriad cables and lighting gear that the band’s production crew spent all day assembling. After a last-minute scramble to solve those problems (including moving the stage a couple of feet, no easy feat), officials turned their attention to the capacity, which they capped at 157 — the legal limit for La Cita’s main room. Many on the VIP and industry lists did not get in.

A crowd of 157 people? That must have been incredible.

run into him every year at coach and he is always gracious and friendly. no matter how you feel about him, he is a pretty big part of music history from the 90's-present. he deserves at least a little respect.

Perry deserves ALL the respect of every indie music, alternative music, and festival lover. He has done more for music and the scene over the past 20 years or so than anyone else. Actually you know what, I hope Coachella doesn't get Perry, the way people act on here, and the way hipsters act about Perry they don't fucking deserve Perry. Perry do yourself a favor, and play with Jane's at your own festival(Lolla) 09. I would be there in a fucking second if they are the headliners, even with all the "sponsorship". Fucking idiots.

Damn dude calm down, who dissed Perry? Yeah I know a few people here and there say they're tired of him being at Coachella but they don't represent the entire audience. I personally hope he does something at every Coachella until his death.

for once i actually agree with you. these bitches just dont know. the best show ive ever seen was janes relapse tour in 98. and i bet if i had seen them back in old days, it would have been even better. im supremely jealous of anybody who went last night.

Not a big janes fan but that's just my lack of spending much time with their music. I would love to have been there to see this.

If Jane's Addiction tour I will try to hit up as many of the shows. Seriously Eric, and Dave are animals with their instruments, and Perry well he is Perry FUCKING Farrell. Seriously guys, Jane's SAVED Coachella in 01. Without that reunion there is no Coachella 2002, and 01 would have been the last year. Oh yeah bonnaroo lovers that would also mean no Bonnaroo, or better yet no explosion of the festival scene we all love. Fucking bowdown bitches!!!!!!!.

I'm playing it by ear, just waiting for the set times to come out. I'm definitely not missing Asobi Seksu though. After that show gets out we'll probably go to the Shrine and see what's up. I might try to bribe a security guard to let us in for less than the ticket price since it will be about halfway over at that point. My older brother will be in town which is really cool because I hardly ever get to see him. Regardless, of whether I get into Hard or not, I'll definitely meet up with you and Paul beforehand.

Where at? You're both welcome to come hang out at my place in Venice and smoke some good buds or whatever. I don't live far from the beach.
Do you play any instruments? I'm a drummer and my brother (who will be in town that weekend) is a bassist so if you happen to play guitar that would be perfect for a jam session.

10-25-2008, 12:06 AM
hehe...i play guitar... got 2 Gibsons... of course they wont be with me though... I think we were gonna hit up Ameoba or somethin, and the Nike shop at 5pm to meet some of the Ed Banger guys... Sushov is driving...im game for whatever...

You can't bring one of them with you on the plane? Actually nevermind, my neighbors wouldn't happy about that. My walls are paper thin so I just use an electronic set to practice at home. I'm down for Amoeba but if you want to hang out on the westside before heading to Hollywood that would be cool too.

The fucking joker! Nah, I don't want to be dressed like another 1000 people at hard. I do like the idea of dressing as one of the joker's henchmen. The mask they wore are beyond better than the Joker's face paint.

I'm gonna go look tomorrow, I'm sure I'm going to be settling with a semi-whack costume but that's cool. When Soulwax, 2manydj's, SMD, and Boyz Noise are playing I'm sure I will forget about all that shit.
