Michael Jackson is in on the plans


Jermaine Jackson has confirmed that The Jackson Five will reunite for a tour and to release new material in 2009.

Jackson told Australian Associated Press that all the original band members – including Michael Jackson – have agreed to the reunion and have been working on new material.

He added that sister Janet Jackson would open their tour dates with a solo set.

"This has been a long time coming for the Jackson family to get back together," he said.

He added, "What we've been doing is working on the music and all the logistics. It is going to be more like a family affair, Janet's going to open and, of course, the original Jackson Five: Michael, Randy and the whole family.

"We're in the studio, we're planning on being out there next year."

Michael Jackson is planning a 30-date world tour to kick off in 2009, a new report claims.

“Michael said he wasn’t doing a Vegas residency but was going on a world tour, taking in 30 cities next year,” a well-placed spy told Britain’s Sun on Wednesday.

“He said he wanted to do it for his kids. He wants them to see what he does, and he wants to take them on the road. He said he was on his way to Los Angeles to finalize the details.”

MJ is getting up there now. what is he, 45? he was at least a decade younger than his brothers. So we get a bunch of middle aged men and Michael jackson singing "Rockin Robin" and "I'll Be There"

Michael doesn't have the range anymore to hit those money notes on I Want You Back and ABC. He would have to squeeze his balls to help reach them, but then again he's too busy grabbing the balls of others.

However, I'd prefer a Michael Jackson solo tour.
And rumor is that michael is planning a 30-city tour for 09. He said something along the lines of that he wanted his children to see what he does for a living and life on the road and such.

But if MJ is on board, I'll mos def be at a nearby show!

Might Jermaine-- and not, you know, Tito-- actually be the craziest Jackson? All signs point to maybe. Despite Jermaine's recent claims to the Australian Associated Press that the long-dormant Jackson 5 were "in the studio" in advance of what would be a monumental reunion tour in 2009, baby bro Michael says it's not so.

Billboard.com reports that Michael issued a statement from the studio (where he's developing "new and exciting projects" without the help of his famous siblings) that threw a pretty big wrench in Jermaine's plan. "My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we've certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them," he said. Guess that settles that.
