The Descent, make sure you get the unedited. Apparently the version in american theaters cut out the last 5 minutes and got a real piece of shit ending. Loved the european ending. I also recommend the first 2 SAW movies. The later ones were not as great. I agree with Rob Zombies Halloween as well. Damn good update.

I thought The Ring was pretty scary the first time I saw it. I actually didn't like the Japanese original.

yeah, if you're never seen the ring before, and haven't seen the scary movie parodies, it's a pretty scary little flick. just watch it alone at night.

and 28 weeks

not into horror movies so much.

"Let the Right One in" does look promising as backwater said.

Let the Right One In is pretty awesome, but it's only nominally a horror movie. It's based in the genre, but doesn't really adhere to many of the tropes. For some reason most of it seemed very realistic to me.

The Grudge
Cloverfield
The Ring
28 Days Later
The Descent
Signs (the ending was crap, but where Night's talent lies is in his ability to make an eerie atmosphere. Signs showcases this well.)

The Strangers was cool, but it could have been much better had the main characters not been complete idiots.

The Hills Have Eyes was ok, just really messed up.

The first Saw is one of the most brilliant thrillers i've seen in years.

The Strangers was infuriating for a while. Eventually though, I couldn't stop laughing at how completely idiotic the characters were.

Love the Signs support, but it's not really a horror movie, more "suspense/mystery."

Devils Backbone
The Others

the first saw film was bogged down by some of the worst acting ever to make the big screen. but yeah, I anti-loled.

Damn it, you're all reminding me how the 2000s have killed the horror movie. I didn't really care for any of these, at least the ones that I've actually seen. (I do want to see The Host.)

Devil's Rejects was good, but not a horror movie.

Slither was pretty fun.

This is a good description I loved that movie but way different from the book but in a good acceptable way

The original Saw for sure. And Signs most definately. Movie STILL creeps the fuck out of me. Im not really sure I would call it a horror exactly though.

Also, I know I am going to get in shit for this, but the new Friday The 13th trailer for the remake is actually really good.

Signs was a major bonding moment for my wife and I. I had no interest in seeing it, but she wanted to. I'm like 30 seconds into the credits and I'm thinking "Oh man, even the credits suck...OK, just give it a chance..."

My wife leans over at the end of the credits and says "I already hate this." That's my girl...

People complain about the ending of Signs, but I would be totally willing to accept it if the movie wasn't so awful. I mean, how is "leaving full glasses of water precariously perched around the house for no reason" acceptable character development?

I think Shamalama is the alien. Only an alien who was afraid of water would think he had to explain (poorly) why people would have water in their house. "Why would anyone keep water around the house? How can I explain this? There's no way! I'll just say the kid did it. Kids do crazy things, wild reckless things like leaving water glasses out! Oh Zenu, are people going to buy this? A girl drinking water? It's insanity!..."

Oh yeah, Spoiler Alert. You're welcome.

I saw that this movie was playing at the Valley Art Theatre this weekend when I was walking around Tempe, and I knew I had heard of it before but had no idea what it was about. Horror is good.
