Privately held Facebook has told members to delete contaminated e-mails and has posted directions at http://www.facebook.com/security on how to clean infected computers.

You know what the sad thing is? To me this just means more money. It's truly troubling when you hear about new viruses and your natural reaction is, "Well, sounds like I'll be making rent this month."

The Koobface e-mails have a subject like "You look so amazing funny on our new video," and contain a link to a YouTube-like video site that appears to contain a movie clip (see image). The video, however, doesn't play, and the website then asks the user to update his or her video software by downloading a file. It's that file that contains the malicious code.
Anyone dumb enough to go for that should get the virus.

Oh, come off it. You don't find your reaction troubling, and nobody would be surprised to hear that your first thought is about how you can benefit from this.

it's easy to avoid, really. i got a phishing warning last night from google chrome. today it wasn't there. i changed my password to be safe (if that does anything). point is, my friends, that i'm safe.

Those fake videos are pretty easy to spot actually. I dont think alot of people really pay attention to that stuff they just click and click till they get what they want. Shame.
