Bands who play great live!
Doves - Under appreciated just finished their fourth album! My first and best
choice.
The Verve - Another British act who play great live.
Kottonmouth Kings - California band who always keep true to their fans.
Tea Leaf Green - California up and coming Jam band who bring guitar.
Fishbone - Only because Angelo Moore rocks and is my friend. Drew from
Eugene, says "please add some old school ska, punk, and funk."
Zappa Plays Zappa - Who doesn't like Dweezil? Bring back the 'muffin man'.
Les Claypool - The master of originality always brings the house down!

I saw Doves recently and they were good, but nothing great. The new stuff sounded fairly decent, tho.

I hear the Ladytron live show has improved since then. It sounded bad from outside the tent. So much that I didn't bother to stick around for more than a few minutes, even though it took me forever to get there after Sigur Ros.
But as for epic live acts that need to be at Coachella...

I don't know about anyone else, but I thought Yelle was fantastic last year. Not too many people at that stage, but she really hyped everyone up and it was definitely one of the more memorable sets from '08. Would love to see her again.
I would love to see The Cardinals play. They always do such a great job every time I see them. Sooo solid since Adams got sober.
They can drop Oasis off back in London, though...

I was hoping with all that damn touring they did after Coachella they would have gotten better. I was so embedded in that tent and so close to Mira that they could have been playing "old mcdonald" and I wouldn't have cared.
They were a tad better at John Anson Ford. Didn't get to see them this year.
Went to see Beirut instead.
I still think they will be at Coachella this year.

Ladytron was great when I saw them last year. The light show and the intensity of the band was actually better than the years before. I felt like I was at one of those early 90's raves so I guess it just depends on where and when you see them. I also saw Helen and Ruben do a DJ set and that was pretty cool.

Tea Leaf Green is great but then i like jam bands , and Z plays Z were supposed to play wakarusa last year but there was a tornado, so they ended the fest early ... the nerve of them, if we were willing to stay, then they should have stayed .... they did say they will play this year to make it up, but since they have moved waka, not sure if they will keep their word .... on any other bands, not sure who i would like to see that i havent ...****

How the heck has he not played coach yet?
Other great live shows I saw last year that have never played Coachella are Caribou, Deerhunter and Autechre

I like jam bands and I can't fucking stand Tea Leaf Green. They're really awful. Sorry Ron.
I'd like to see Zappa Plays Zappa but I haven't had the chance yet. They played a few nights at the Roxy a little while ago. Tickets were $150.00! I'd consider paying that much to see Frank if he were still alive but paying that much to see his son would be crazy. They played Bonnaroo 08 and Rothbury.

So, thanks to this thread, I went looking for Weebl & Bob's take on Ladytron's Destroy. Turns out Ladytron's manager pissed all over Weebl & Bob and got the video taken down.
So fuck you, Ladytron. Or, more forgivingly, fuck your stupid fucking management that cannot see the value in letting an immensely popular web cartoon - which obviously adored you - give you and your reasonably obscure song the fucking benefit of their attention.
Those seventy nine seconds of 2D animation gave you far more free exposure than you evidently deserved. It's not even quite a parody, it's just a regular Weebl & Bob cartoon about pies with a fond and detailed nod to Ladytron.
SaSU6Jrs22E
I don't fucking understand Universal. Sometimes I just think they're cunts for the fucking sake of it, and they've had an especially spectacular cunt attack lately.
I don't need to torrent any of Ladytron's stuff, but I think I might start sharing it out of sheer misguided fucking spite.

I say Fucked Up would be great and will definitely be on the bill.
Yeah, I know what you're thinking, Coachella doesn't like to put on heavy bands, blah, blah
Since Fucked Up are unquestionably the most hipster-friendly hardcore band in history AND they were media darlings last year AND they're currently touring...
Fucked Up for Coachella '09!!

Saw Pulp back in the '90's and they weren't amazing live. Saw Jarvis a year ago or so and it was one of the most boring concerts I've ever been to.
I second the request for Nick Cave - his shows are amazing. I'd also add Amanda Palmer (killed during her set this year) and Art Brut (their low-fi video display when they played Mezzanine here in SF was awesome).

Final Fantasy...awesome live and has never played Coachella
He's playing Toronto April 8th and Vancouver May 09th, so far those are the only spring tour details that are announced. Given how many other bands are playing Toronto around that same time already either rumoured or confirmed for Coachella, I'd say it's entirely possible to hit the fest somewhere in the middle. He does have a new album out.
