I missed a friend's bachelor party for coachella once. my first coachella, in 2003. before they had a date set I told the guy organizing it, any weekend except coachella weekend. it turned out that coachella weekend was the only weekend anybody else could make it. so I skipped it. never once have I regretted that decision.

I got excited earlier today when my boss told me I was going to a conference in april. turns out it's earlier in april. I would have loved to say no to her.
