Wow!! Where to start? I know!! With my first ever show...
Pink Floyd 1987 at the LA Coliseum during the Momentary Lapse Of Reason Tour. I was 13 and my mind was blown!!
Jane's Addiction at the Palladium 1991
Guns N' Roses for 3 nights at the Forum in 1991
Grateful Dead on my birthday in Vegas 4/27/91.. First of 33 dead shows, completely changed my outlook on concerts. The aura of Dead shows blew me away!!
Porno For Pyros and Rage Against the Machine at Castaic Lake. Second ever Pyros show, Rage opened and blew me away. True story, while Rage were on Layne Staley was sitting in the crowd by himself. Me and my buddy went up and talked to him at the end of the Rage set. He said "if you like these guys check out Tool." Next thing you know I'm one of the biggest Tool fans out there. Thanks Layne!! Which leads to...
Porno For Pyros and Tool at the Huntridge in Vegas. This was pre-Undertow, Maynard was on fire!! What a show!!
Tool at the Hollywood Church of Scientology in 92. Anybody else go to that one?
Tool at a tiny wrestling arena in San Bernandino in 95. Premiere of Stinkfist and Pushit.
Tool at Irvine Meadows 11/01/01. Ticks and Leeches and the best Pushit ever. Find the Bootleg.
Faith No MOre at the Palladium on the Angel Dust tour.
Every Coachella, especially 04, 06, 07 and 08.
Grateful Dead LA Sports Arena in 93 with Branford Marsalis
The infamous Pearl Jam Indio show in 93. "Fuck me in the Brain!!"
Metallica on the And JUstice For All tour at Irvine.
Radiohead at the Hollywood Bowl several times. Especially the In Rainbows show.
The Verve at the Mayan Theater for two nights in 95
Lollapalooza 92 at Irvine. Main stage was sick!! Side stage had Rage, Porno for Pyros and Stone Temple Pilots
Prince, POrtishead, and Waters last year at Coachella.
Arcade Fire at the Greek
Daft Punk at Coachella and at Vegoose.
I gotta stop there!!!
It just keeps going!!
See you in two days!!

This thread is the best on the board... I'll go on....
Radiohead/Teenage Fanclub- Warfield, 1997- right after the release of OK Computer
Of all the qotsa shows I have been to- Slims 2002 and the Virgin Megastore instore were my favourites, the latter being when I drove up right after Sunset Junction from seeing Mondo Generator, kicking it with Nick, Brant, Keith Morris, and Zach from Rage, the night before, being front row at Virgin, and Nick being shocked that I was there. Priceless!
Porno For Pyros, 1993, 1996 various- the highlight was seeing them at a Christmas show in sf, 1993, hearing Pete's Dad, and the encore of My Time.
The Dillinger Escape Plan- GAMH, 2002? Didn't know who they were, going into it, just went with a friend, and was absolutely blown away!!! One of the best live bands playing, these days... They have alot of hipster types riding their jock, and that always turns me off, but in this case, it is totally warranted...

Some of the more memorable shows that I've been to:
Pixies- Crawford Hall- Irvine 1991 or so ; w/ Janes Addiction and Primus- Hollywood Palladium.
Sonic Youth- San Diego Lions Club 1986, w/ Sea Hags, Eleven Sons;
The Whiskey 1991, The Hollywood Palladium 1991- w/ Nirvana and Melvins opening
Castaic Lake 1992- Pavement, Mudhoney, Curt Kobain did a few acoustic songs.
Butthole Surfers- Variety Arts Center 1988, w/ Frightwig, Hickoids.
Einsturzende Neubauten- Helter Skelter 1991.
Laibach- The Scream Nightclub- 1989.
Dead Can Dance- Wadsworth Hall, UCLA, 1990 maybe 91- one of their first US shows.
Cocteau Twins- The Wiltern, 1991 or 92 w/ Mazzy Star.
Jesus and Mary Chain- Hollywood Palladium, 1988 w/ Social Distortion. Though the Reid bros. were both a bit tipsy.
Shortlist Festival- The Wiltern, 2003- Damien Rice, Interpol, Black Keys, Bright Eyes, Cat Power.
Radiohead- Universal Ampitheather, 1998 w/ Spiritualized; Greek Theatre 2000.
That's a hell of a show list, lucky you.

I know people will groan at this but, in 1999, there was a concert at San Jose State, CA. Hole and Garbage were on the same bill. Miss Love was talented and Shirley Manson, just outrageous sexy energy! There were other bands too, Perfect Circle, Cake (they weren't bad) and a couple of others I don't really recall, but the girls had me mesmerized. (My friend said she saw Shirley in the VIP).
Later than year, at the Cow Palace in Burlingame, CA: Hole and Marilyn Manson. They HATED each other, but I think they're hating on each other so much made for a great show. That tour was cut short because Marilyn claimed he broke his ankle.

I was at the Cow Palace show. It was great but started on time which made me mad...how dare they.
I also saw that tour at the Forum when Mary broke his ankle. I thought it was funny, i was at the spot where he fell but wanted to get something at the concession stand so i walked away and when they started they were playing and singing and all of the sudden there is no Mary on stage...i said what happened and my friend told me he fell off the stage, i thought it was pretty damn funny.

Hmm there is a couple that spring to mind...
-New Years Ipecac Show at the Great American Music Hall with Melvins fronted by Jello Biafria, Dillinger Escape Plan fronted by Mike Patton, Pink Anvil, and... Kid 606? I believe...it was a while ago
-Sigur Ros at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, they ended with "Untitled 8" and in the middle of the song when it starts the big build up, it starts raining and as the music kept building up it kept raining harder and harder as if it were part of the show. It was pretty intense and it seemed like everyone in the crowd got pretty lost in the music during that song.
-Redemption 87 reunion (Local punk band, first reunion they had in like 8 years and the crowd was pretty intense)
and of course Coachella '04 if that counts.

I haven't even seen it yet, but I know Amanda Palmer's set will be the best show EVAR! Ha ha.
She is really good live or otherwise.
1. Faith No More- Dublin 09. Played the one song I was dying to hear, amazing band/audience interaction, a Patton stage dive right on top of me, a Puffy drumstick and set list acquisition, small venue, tiny pit area in front, flew from NC for the show
2. Down- Nola several years ago. It was the first show Down played since Dimebag's death, in their hometown of New Orleans, they did like 8 or 9 encores. Shit was wild, and I was nice and buzzed.
3. Built To Spill- NC 09. Sound at Cat's Cradle was so good. Set list was amazing.
4. Tori Amos- Her shows are always so intense. Must see act.

Definitely one of them, considering how young I was and that it was my first real concert. My older bro and I took a bus from Grande Prairie (about a 4hr. trip) to see it. We made a deal with our folks that we wouldn't miss school the next day if they'd let us go. After GnR finished their set at around 1:30AM, we got back on the bus and basically arrived back in G.P. just in time for school the next morning...unforgettable!

Rock the Bells '08 at the Gorge in WA - Pharcyde/A Tribe Called Quest/De La Soul/Nas/Mos Def/Big Brother/The Cool Kids and some more I can't quite remember... Only problem was I smoked entirely too many blunts and the whole day is very hazy in my memory. Never would have thought you could smoke too many blunts at a hip-hop show, but I did. Luckily I took video of it.

Ah Devo, when they ripped off their yellow outfits they threw them into the crowd right next to us, causing a hilarious scramble for the pieces.
It was an awesome day, but hot as hell. My wife had recently dyed her hair red over the black dye, which began to run during the heat and everybody around thought she had been injured in the pit, very funny.

Blur @ First Avenue in Minneapolis during the Think Tank tour. My favourite band in the club made famous by Prince's "Purple Rain". Only thing that would have made it better would have been if Graham was there.
Supergrass @ The Bowery Ballroom in NYC for their "life on other planets" tour. I was visiting the city and decided to try and get tickets though it was sold out. Managed to get tickets at face value from a couple whose friend couldn't make it. Ended up chumming with them and their friends all night while seeing the 'grass who I never thought i'd get a chance to see.

Radiohead in 1997 in Cleveland in a high school auditorium. I was in the 2nd row, there was a storm outside, and the power went out twice during the show. Someone shouted 'stonehenge!' (reference to spinal tap and all the technical problems) and the whole band started laughing. Thom Yorke was basically taking requests from the audience and they played 3 encores...
Best show after that I think would have to be Riverboat Gamblers a year or two ago at some dive bar in Columbus, OH. If you've never seen them, the lead singer is incredibly crazy. At one point he literally left the venue with the microphone still hooked up and was singing outside to random people walking by. :)
that is unreal. i cannot even wrap my mind around that-- to see radiohead in such in intimate setting.
i was only a child in 97. saw them 08 and it was still pretty life changing.

Badass. Didnt know Jazzy could rock a crowd out. Then again, he produced Summertime by Willy Smith (along with countless other Willy classics). Good shit.
