This is purely speculation, but I'm just going to throw this out there, anyway. He's supposed to be just about finished with his new album which has a release date loosely confirmed by Kompakt as being May 16th. Battles drummer John Stanier has teamed up a bit with Alex on the album.

With his unfortunate cancellation of his stateside three-piece band tour (which included Coachella) last year, it's certainly a possibility that they'd try again.

Drummer from Battles? that is rad!

Yea I wanted to see The Field last year, but I couldn't be pulled away from Deadmau5 at the time...

The Field or any other Swedes--The Tough Alliance or Studio in particular--would make me go no matter what.

I had kind of brushed aside the possibility, but if someone else thinks it's possible I'll hop on board...

I was so bummed last year. From here we go sublime was my favorite album of 2007. It would have been so cool to see him with a band. I really really hope he (and potentially others with him) are on the bill this year.

This would be awesome. I saw him when he came through LA opening for !!! and he was great, I'd love to see him with a full band.

Sucks that he dropped last year. He was still on the set times board outside of the Gobi. lol.

I remember getting to the tent just to hear a disappointing last minute cancellation. I really wanted to see that act, great last album.

By the way, was it his visa that kept him away? I never heard a real answer on why there was the no-show.

I was sitting there waiting for him. They announced he had 'a passport problem' and couldn't get into the country.
