This is the Main reason why i bought my tickets! this is so awesome! how long do the headliners usually play for?

Long enough that if I were to sit there and watch the Killers for the entire set, I would most likely want to kill myself and probably several others around me.

I have seen headliners play for 60 minutes... And I have seen super-headliners (like Roger Waters) play for hours...
My guess is that the Killers will be closer to the 60-minute mark.
Great band, but pretty disapointed that GV has given them "Coachella Headliner" status... Saturday better shape-up soon or it's fixing to be a disapointing day in the smack-dab middle of the festival.

Except it's not. There is a reason they are headlining- they're popular and actually pretty good.

Hopefully within the second minute one of them will get tackled by Henry Rollins, but I think that's just me wishing everyone's set ends with Henry Rollins tackling someone. This includes Henry Rollin's set

Affirmative. Rollins enters stage, and walks right up to Flowers's face and uppercuts that little b!tch's head clean off--out pours flower pedals to the sound of a winning slot-machine...and Henry's one-liner before he continues into his spoken-word set is, "It was just his time!"

the Killers will play until every one in the audience realizes that something better is going on in the Sahara. so, maybe twenty minutes or so- depending on when the Chemical Brothers go on.

would he have a different one liner for each person he tackled during the festival? And what would he say after he tackles himself?
These are important questions that must be answered!

Monklish should know what headling is. the real question is: does headling have an age limit?

They've got eight or so great songs between three albums. Those 8 are enough for me to be psyched, though.
And yeah, 90 minutes. Anything more or less would surprise me, especially with a seemingly much lesser second line (on an off year, Morrissey or MBV could headline, but there's no way Amy Winehouse or Thievery Corp could).

Maybe for his set Greg Ginn will come out and try to tackle him, but Rollins will fake him out and tackle him instead.
As I said in another thread, if he tackles Amy Winehouse it'll be a moment that makes shitty VH1 lists for decades to come.

and if they do, hopefully some fortunate event will abruptly end their performance...like brandon flowers realizing he can't sing.

I went to a Festival last summer in Europe and The Killers were headlining one of the nights. After Justice, we were just gonna head back and not see The Killers, but we walked by the main stage as they were starting. Not gonna lie.....it was really enjoyable. We ended up staying for their whole set (about 70mins) Come on....Mr. Brightside???? You can't not sing along to that.

I'm not sure if I hate them because I really do like the song All These Things I've Done, I just really resent the fact that they were given a headlining slot at such a prestigious festival like Coachella and that is just enough to make me dislike them strongly

I just hate the fact that I'll be paying like 80+ bucks to see all these great bands on saturday but it's gonna have to end with The Killers and Amy Winehouse(Okay she's talented. I get it. I'm just not a fan). If it was free I wouldn't care but, it's not. So I'm going to enjoy myself in the sahara tent seeing a DJ I saw two years ago during the day time.
If it ended with bowie I'd happily pay 50 dollars extra. Just saying.

Let it go. There are plenty of good bands on Sat. No need to focus on the headliners anyway. For my part, I am really looking forward to seeing them. But you don't have to be of that mindset and I get it.

Ahh, not so much. I mean, look at it like this- it's gonna be a fun day. GV does a bang up job producing the whole thing. There's no pressure for you to be anywhere at any one time and you could just kick it at Sahara and have a better time than 99.99% of the planet.
Tell ya what tho. If you do end up at the Killers, you can still make it a good time. I'd have to say about the only show I've ever seen that I could not turn into a 'good time' was Gene Love Jezebel. They were so awful. But rather than biatching about it I got over it and had fun anyway. Your first beer is on me!

Exactly what I think. Killers are cool and all, but exactly how many people can they bring on their own.
20 thousand ?
I dunno, GV better get someone else to close the show.

Thats why Friday was the least populated day last year...which was actually great for roaming around spaced out of my mind. Plus I think(as I was nowhere near the main stage) that JJ's performance was pretty light for a headliner.
I think and hope they add another headliner, not cuz I dislike the Killers but, I dont see them as worthy closers for our beloved festival.

horrible song is correct...but I equally despise "spaceman" it goes no where and the singing is pretty aweful.
