going to a wedding this weekend for valentine's day, the next weekend though im taking my girlfriend to monterrey overnight with a trip to the aquarium on sunday.

i also don't expect people to give gifts on valentine's day, but i do like an actual valentine/card. i'm big into cards though. i think the holiday is a bit overrated with all the expectations, but i approve of any day that's about sending love to people. i send my parents and some of my friends valentines and like to give candy. it's not just about boyfriends to me, but all the people i love <3

my best vday was with a bunch of friends. we met up at victoria gardens (in ontario near the airport) we started at one end of the main street and made it a point to have a drink at every restaurant/bar. well, not really make it a point, that was our plan from the beginning. it was great until the very end. theres some fish restaurant at the end of one street and by the time we got there i was goin pretty good. i cannot stand the smell of fish and felt sick immediately. ugh. i took a shot and waited for my friends outside. good times.

I hate Valentine's Day. Even when I had boyfriends, I refused to go out with them on Valentine's Day. Haha! It's too cheesy and fake. Christmas accomplishes everything vday does anyway: buying shit to validate relationships and spending time with loved ones. :)

I was taken on a scavenger hunt for my gift, which ended up being a white gold and amethyst cocktail ring, then we went to Chelsea's Kitchen for dinner and we sat outside on the huge brick covered patio with the fireplace roaring, and we ended up at the Sidebar lounge downtown. Then we came home and watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall. All in all, a great night.

the woman and i had dinner at a nice little hole-in-the-wall local italian place that has amazing food. brought a nice 10 year old bottle of wine with us that we picked up in france 4 years ago, where we spent valentine's day that year(i asked her to go to paris with me for v-day 3 weeks after we met, pretty much sealed the relationship deal right there). we weren't sure if the wine would still be good, but it turned out to be one of the most amazing i have ever tasted. then it was home for some amazing lovin'...after we got the kids to bed, haha!

at one point during dinner i checked my phone to see what time it was, as it felt like we had been gone for a few hours. turned out we had only been away for an hour and a half. so funny what time is like when you finally make it out without the kids. that 90 minutes of quiet adult time seemed like an eternity, haha...
