With Waters playing last year and McCartney this year, I'd guess the average age group at Coachella has changed somewhat. Check this site out and then share what the #1 song hit was on the day and year you were born...(www.joshhosler.biz )

I saw Stevie in 07, in stadium style environment. Even hundreds of yards away he was incredibly engaging and entertaining. He sounds incredible and was so cheerful and funny during his set. But... he did play a lot of songs that were slower... if he played more upbeat songs from the late 70s, I could see it working.

I don't care too much for my year's #1. my birth song always has been and always will be 'buffalo soldier'. I was born at home with a midwife on a hot day in an upstairs front room apartment in the middle of kensington market, and that day, like every day every summer, the rastas across the street had their soundsystem out playing marley. and just through timing, that was my song.

Do your research on UB40. They are a mixed group racially. They chose their name from the name of the English unemployment form they were familiar with. Live they are super fun and have a big sound.
Red, Red Wine was written by Neil Diamond. The song is about drinking to forget his lady, not celebrating the drink of choice for the rich and powerful. UB40 is known for doing excellent covers and recorded this one years before it became a number 1 song. That "white oppressor's" (Ali Campbell) voice is one of the most unique in music. If he got back together with the band and they were at Coachella, i would be there.

That would not be good. Jokes are really useful for lots of things. When your on a date, a joke can help bring the couple closer together (only if it's a good one...bad joke could have you going home early). "Honey" Bobby Goldsboro...can't say i ever liked this song. Christ, I believe I had a crush on Bobby Goldsboro! I was a little girl and I think it was because he was a short little guy, not sure. The song was pretty until I got old enough to realize it was about somebody dying. Instant crush killer!

I actually already knew this, I had looked it up sometime ago. Billy Preston's "Will It Go Round In Circles". It's a pretty generic song.
It took over the #1 spot from George Harrison's "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)" and was followed by "Bad Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce. I definitely got the short end of the stick out of those three.

Because of this thread, i was talking to a friend of mine who is in a band about my song. i thought "Judy in Disguise" would be a good cover for them and he told me the band had talked about doing it before, but didn't get everybody on board. He's going to bring it up again i think.
