View Full Version : I need to delegate a music project

I need to put together a 15-to-20-song playlist that will play in conjunction with a slideshow of pics of employees "having fun". This slideshow will be playing during New Hire Orientation as noobs come in and out of class at the beginning, end, and during breaks.

The music needs to be energetic and "happy", but I don't want to use the same bullshit that always gets played during these sessions.

Help me!

I humbly suggest using Elvis Costello's "Pump It Up" as one of your presentation songs.

exactly. slideshows of shirt and tie interns with the chronic in the background. censored radio edits of course, but like, ridiculous overblown gangsta rap full of stuff about bling and cash. tell me that wouldn't give people a subconscious bit of motivation

Are you using full songs, or just snippets of several songs?

Spoon - Don't You Evah
LCD Soundsystem - Time To Get Away
The Cars - Let's Go
Lenny K - Are You Gonna Go My Way?

Those suggestions probably all suck for what you're looking to do, but I'd rather think about your job than think about mine!

I guess to be fair, there wasn't a more specific description of "fun" and "happy" in the original request. I guess it was just taken for granted what those words implied, ha ha...

Go Team is a fantastic suggestion. I would add Los Campesinos to that, and maybe some Hot Chip.

I was going to suggest Beirut's Postcards From Italy or something, but I think that might make the slideshow look eerily like some sort of memorial tribute.

Yeah those are too gloomy..which is part of my problem, as a great majority of my music collection consists of gloomy music.
