if you're disappointed at this point, would the addition of one of two bands really make THAT much of a diffwerence? I would think that people would already be committed or not...I find it difficult to believe that one band being added could make or brak the decision to attend a three-day festival on the other side of the world

honestly, it's a fucking blast even if you hate all the bands (well, that might be extreme)...but seriously, it's so much fun just to hang out and wander around and relax
Last year was my first year and the biggest szurprise for me was how easy it was just to sit back and relax
just good times

If any one of the following acts was added on any day, I pledge right here and now that I will buy my 3-day pass, and y'all can hold me to that shit. [Note, a few of these bands do not currently exist, though all founding members are alive (exceptions noted with an asterisk), hence a true reunion would be possible.]
U2
The Chemical Brothers
Faith No More
Underworld
Queens Of The Stone Age / Kyuss
Between The Buried And Me
John Zorn w/ Mike Patton
Urban Dance Squad
Fischerspooner
Carcass
Napalm Death
Godflesh
Ministry
Skinny Puppy
Animosity
Horse The Band
The Beastie Boys
Daft Punk
Led Zeppelin*
Pink Floyd*
Einstürzende Neubauten
Hilt* (just 1 member left & I don't think they've ever played live)
The Beatles*
Rocket From The Crypt
The 13th Floor Elevators
The Zombies
U.T.F.O.
Run - D.M.C.(*)
Kid Koala
Kraftwerk
The KLF
Giles
Björk Guğmundsdóttir
Mr. Bungle
Merzbow
Joni Mitchell
The Clash* (though I can't really imagine anyone besides Joe, R.I.P.)
I'm sorry for the long list, but I just felt like doing that. Still, if any one of those is added, I'll be there all three days, doubtless.
(I'm very serious about that list, too. I've sneaked in no jokes.)

half of those bands in your list tour pretty regularly on their own...but to each his own
These bands from your list are AWESOME live by the way and you definitely should see them if you haven't:
Between the Buried and Me (still waiting to see them do a full headlining set)
Horse The band (incidentally i saw them and Between on the same night, opening for Dillenger Escape Plan)
Ministry
Skinny Puppy
Queens of the stone age (whom I've seen several times, including a perfomance on the "lullabies" tour wherein John Garcia came out and they did 3 kyuss songs)

I don't think that any of these bands (besides Skinny Puppy) has much of a chance to play the festival, but I sure like the way you fucking think. If any one of these bands was added it would make this years lineup even more mindblowing than it already is.
edit: then again, Throbbing Gristle is playing this year, which is really strange for a festival like Coachella, so maybe they'll open the doors to louder, crazier music for future lineups.

speaking of Godflesh, i keep wondering why JESU hasn't appeared at Coachella yet...he's releasing so much amazing stuff under that name and it seems like a perfect fit for the fest

speaking of Godflesh, i keep wondering why JESU hasn't appeared at Coachella yet...he's releasing so much amazing stuff under that name and it seems like a perfect fit for the festI think that's very true, however I think Justin may have an aversion to playing in front of large, festival-sized crowds. I have no intention of speaking for him, and I may well be wrong on this, but I think a considerable part of his confidence and security left with GC.

And just as a tangent, I know bands get big and everything and schedules conflict, but if I was currently in a band (as I've been before in life) that got asked, I would drop everything to play Coachella. That place has been so much fun for me over its decade of existence.

Hold on. I have trouble believing you'd spend $300 just because Kid Koala got added. Explain.I'm already on the most fragile precipice of spending my money on this festival again. I think the lineup is pretty damned solid, but $300 is a lot of money. Just the same, if there was just one more beloved act of mine to grace the Coachella roster, they'd easily push me over brink.
About Koala, I've been blown away by him ever since a friend lent me a copy of "Scratcharatcharatcha..." His eclectic tastes and ability to wildly jump genres while maintaining a consistent mood floor me. I saw him open for Lovage (another great Mike Patton project), and he nearly equaled the fun generated by Patton & Automator. Plus, much later, I saw him open for Shadow & Cut Chemist, and I have to say he completely kicked their asses.

RAWR my brother and I went to that gig at the Wiltern and got there just in time to miss KK. We were so pissed, especially once everyone started ranting and raving about how great it was

I caught the show at HoB Anaheim with some friends and was pleading with them to bail with me during the Shadow/Chemist set. Take comfort that you didn't miss a proper-length Koala set though, since I think he was only getting like an hour or so on that tour.

Oh okay, fair enough. So, one act off that list and you'll go, none of them and you're skipping. I wish I could be so firm. For me it takes about 5 acts that I really want to see, 10 acts that I want to see, and a bunch I'm curious about. Plus one or two must-see-before-I-die acts (Paul McCartney, The Cure, Leonard Cohen, Booker T). This lineup has those.
Well now I want to see Koala. I still probably won't go out of my way, but if he opens for someone awesome that will make me more excited. I wish I could see Lovage by the way, Patton should bring that back sometime.

I dont want to be a negative nelly but I dont see them adding any more headliners... at best we could see bloc party, the sounds, eagles of death metal, kimya dawson. trust me I would like to see someone larger than the killers but highly unlikely
