I just read this on a pretty trusty music news website called Jambands.com....
A slew of new artists have been confirmed for April’s David Lynch Foundation benefit. As previously reported, the event will take place at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on April 4, benefiting consciousness-based education and world peace. In addition to previously conformed headliner Paul McCartney, the event’s lineup now includes his former Beatle bandmate Ringo Starr, Ben Harper, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Donovan, Sheryl Crow, Moby, Bette Lavette and Paul Horn. It is now known whether the two remaining Beatles will perform together, though one assumes they will collaborate as they did at a tribute to George Harrison shortly after his passing.
Maybe it's just me, but with Ringo probably gonna jam with Paul a couple weeks earlier and with George's son already at Coachella, I say lets invite the Lennon boys and have Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Ringo on the polo fields...just saying they did it with Zeppelin, and even as someone who idolizes Lennon and doesn't think anyone in the world can replace him, I still think it would be a blast

I think Ringo would be really cool, but I don't see any appeal whatsoever in having any of their sons involved...

Ringo wasn't at Live8, he's still bitter about that. Dhani Harrison is likely, since he'll be at the festival. of course, Dave Grohl is known to join Macca. that's about it though. maybe Denny Laine will come out and they can play Band on the Run in its entirety.

He won't have any special guests. He likes the attention on him.

I am hoping for Dave Grohl. I want drum solos if that's the case. Lots of drum solos.

Kris Novoselic will join them both, and Paul will sing Nirvana tunes...

this isn't the grammy's. not every performance needs some outrageous collaboration to appeal to the ignorant masses.

Neither will be with him. Eltons on tour, for one thing.
But it would be awesome. What a year for Stevie: Jonas Brothers AND Paul McCartney!

that wasn't my point. it's a dig at the grammy's for making every single performance some bizzare and unnecessary collaboration, a la paul mccartney and dave grohl. prince and sheila e. is a different story.

For what it's worth, Billy Joel bragged about Sir Paul joining him onstage a Shea Stadium in a RollingStone article this month. Favor returned maybe? (maybe not?)

lets not knock the grohl/mccartney combo. dave has played with the best of rock & roll and metal history, this is not bizarre or obscure

The Foo Fighters actually recorded a decent cover of "Band on the Run" that's some bonus track/b-side/whatever and is really hard to find. So Dave definitely knows the tune.

Maybe the John and George wax figures at Madame Tussauds? Or how about Bowie (with Paul sitting out the set)?

while i agree with you, i wouldn't call Scream or Foo Fighters the best in rock & roll and metal history...

i was referring to who dave has colaborated with: paul, tony iommi, springsteen, lemmy & bowie. paul and grohl is hard to label as bizarre and obscure given the quality of musician he has collaborated with in the past. i love foo but would not venture calling them the best
