View Full Version : Yeah Yeah Yeahs should take Amy Winehouse's spot on Sat

A lot of people would be happy with this - better bands on sat evening instead of having just the killers which a lot of people dislike, and it stops the throbbing gristle clash with the yeah yeah yeahs or anyone else that would clash with them sunday.

What does everyone think?

I'm for anything being moved from Sunday to Saturday. Specifically, Fucked Up, MBV, Throbbing Gristle, The Orb, Etienne de Crecy, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Friendly Fires.
it would help ensure that I could see all of them.

no,this is a matter of personal opinion because someone doesnt want a conflict-GV has the bill set the way it is for a good reason
-the yeah yeah yeahs are playing-
be happy w/that as it is
come to terms w/the fact that other bands should be on the bill as well

this is fucking stupid! them playing MBV and the Cure couldn't be more perfect! They're going to add on to Saturday, give it time.

Yeah, although I agree that YYY into MBV into The Cure is fucking amazing, I still rather be able to see YYYs, MBV, cure, EdC, the Orb, and throbbing gristle without conflict. I'm willing to sacrifice a the YYYMBVcure combo any day of the week to be able to see some of these amazing shows.

so suck my dick. all of you.

Whew, this is on of the many reason I go to multiple festivals each year. If there is a horrible conflict with YYYs on Sun, I'll skip because they'll be at Sasquatch :D While moving them to Sat. makes sense I would rather have another subhead added to take crackhouse's place.

I'm in the same boat with Bonnaroo... and probably some show in San Diego this year... but still! The Yeah Yeah Yeahs! One of the finest live acts around! I cannot pass up ANY oppurtnity to see them live no matter who else they are playing up against.

It's a matter of getting to see as many amazing (and especially rare) performers as you possibly can! Not anti-conflict desires. To me, at least.

i already saw the yyy's when they came to Indio last time-im cool w/Karen & Co. but insisting that they should be moved at the expense of another potentially good add is simply doing too much.

I see where youre coming from, I'm just extremely heartbroken at some of those AMAZING acts I'm probably gonna have to end up missing.

This would be AWFUL. Sunday is empty with the exception of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Peter Bjorn & John and some small acts i could miss without really caring. Saturday in my opinion is allready jammed with good bands like Fleet Foxes, TV on the Radio, Band of Horses, Micheal Franti. There will be conflicts a plenty allready, add Yeah Yeah Yeahs and its a total trainwreck.

I think Shonky is making this suggestion based on the assumption that there will not be a replacement for Winehouse. Am I correct?

Of course I would prefer that GV book a bad ass Winehouse replacement over moving acts around. But I certainly wouldn't go all Hulk Smash! if YYYs were moved to Saturday in lieu of a replacement.

We all dont like sitting all day in a tent listening to someone sping records while we get hit with a strobe light. I'm there to see bands. song writers, performers, things of this nature, which Friday and saturday are packed with. Sunday? eh. I get it that YOUR music is that day, but not mine.

Yes you are correct, only if they do not replace her with someone else do I think they should they do this.

Sundays got MBV who will rock the shit out of my ears
as well as late of the pier who will also rock out
Public enemy who will just be awesome because Chuck D's one of the best OG rappers left
The Cure, who are almost guaranteed to play a great set
Lupe Fiasco's gonna be tight, Peter Bjorn and John will be fun, X will rock out, Devendra Banhart's great as well as the murder city devils, and K'naan will just be really chill
and I don't think that any of those bands besides the rap groups use turntables
and this is probably not even half of the great bands on that day that aren't DJ's

Yeah I support this thread.
However if desperate times call for desperate measure I know I can catch em at bonnaroo. That's the only way I could manage the gogol vs. does it offend you yeah conflict last year.
