...if he does we'll witness the second coming in the form of John Lennon resurrected. Not a bad way to kick off the weekend :)

Carnival of Light (http://www.beatlesbible.com/songs/carnival-of-light/)

This makes sense...

Sir Paul saying himself it is time for this to be released
Delayed lineup announcement (due to negotiations revolving around an epic event)
Youth will play with Sir Paul to perform The Fireman (a definite nod to a psychedelic tone to be expected)

Based on what Ive heard this track described as, I think Id wqant the bragging rights of seeing it live slightly less than not wanting to hear it at all

If this song were that great, the guy he wrote it for, would have used it. Furthermore, if it were at all good, they would have used it.

Not necessarily... not everything makes it through the marketing pipeline. I mean they had huge creative control, but for whatever reason, this never came out. In light of their tremendous influence on electronic music I for one am curious...

after reading the review it is apparent this particular track would be rather difficult to recreate... especially without the original artists.

this will not happen.

What exactly would Youth do if he performs with McCartney? Does he play certain instruments, or what?

EDIT: Wilkl he really be performing lots of Fireman material? I didn't think he had more than one album under that name.

Three albums, I think. The other two came out in the mid-90s.
