It seems to me that a small group of people really hated it...so I thought I should make a poll...

I love that I could be a part of the Coachella wherein GV alienated 90% of their audience by blasting my favorite songs at maximum volume.
Bring on the hate... watching the angry, scared and disgusted faces running for cover made me giggle with childlike glee.

Not acceptable! You must form a deeply polarized opinion of this performance, and then force your opinions on others, damnit! Don't you know how the internet works??

I was just shattered to pieces after watching their set.Ditto. Sunday was epic and something I'll always remember because of MBV's sonic ocean that they nearly drowned us with and then the Cure getting shut down and still playing a ton of songs after the man told them to shut it down. :)

It was kinda cool, but after about 3 songs I had enough...neither loved it nor hated it(I know, I'm supposed to have a significantly more polarized reaction)

It was phenomenal! Still can't believe I finally got to see them. At one point I had tears streaming down my face. It's silly, I know.

Thanks, it's embarrassingly indicative of how much time I spend on here. Oh well, I know more about good music than most of my friends. Well worth it.

It really was. I didn't tear up, rather, was in a state of quasi shock until getting to the next set. I literally had trouble wrapping my mind around what had we had just seen and heard. Haven't felt like that after a performance before, stunning stuff.

I felt the same way, though I had the indoor experience last year at Roseland in NYC. That was fucking loud.
They were amazing at Coachella, though.

It was maybe the loudest outdoor show I've ever heard. How is it surprising or noteworthy that it didn't sound as loud as an indoor show?

I'm only judging based on my own My Bloody Valentine experience, which is still only limited to just two shows. I have friends who saw them back before they split, and they said it used to be even louder.
I'm certainly not surprised it wasn't as loud as it was when I saw them indoors, but in addition to the obvious roof-plus-walls factor, maybe I just knew what I was in for this time around. Not just because of the band's reputation, as with the first time I saw them, but also because I'd been through it already.
The discussion about the noise actually misses the point a bit. For me, it's the beautiful sounds My Bloody Valentine makes with their music, which I've loved at every volume.
