It wouldn't be a Coachella without this celebrity. Every year we have a thread for him, discussing his crazy behavior. Did you see him this year? I ran into him 3 times actually:

The first, being at the Mainstage during M Ward.

He was spinning around almost violently with a odd look on his face.

2nd Time I saw him was in the campgrounds somewhere.

3rd time was outside of the Sahara tent on Sunday, sleeping.

I took a picture of him from behind somewhere between the Sahara and the Mojave early afternoon on Friday. Then I saw him a few minutes later in the food court by that area. Then I ran into him not too much longer in the back of the Mojave during Los Campesinos! and he was giving me the evil eye.

His name is David and he is actually an effin cool ass guy. He is very spiritual in the way he talks and although he may seem like hes on acid, he doesnt party like that anymore. My friends and I talked to him in the campgrounds at least once a day, hes actually kinda funny as he makes jokes about his midgetness all the time.

I woke up to him out in front of our tent one morning, just trippin' on the anniversary banner I had hanging up. Since I had the overhead shade tarp open, I didn't dare move and couldn't quite get my camera. He finally had his attention diverted towards the slip n' slide party going on down the way...Whew! I grabbed my camera and watched as he approached the fun ahead of him.It was as if he was drawn to that slip n' skide like moths to a light, and I wondered if he was gonna just drop trou and run towards it, butt naked like last year...He didn't, and this was a good thing...

Hahahaha! I saw him at the campsite early Friday morning. I was out for a stroll at about 9 AM and saw him swaying with his hands at his sides with his eyes closed. In his own little world for sure.

And I saw him on Saturday in between the bamboo and the main stage.

i walked by with a few friends (first timers and one who hasnt been since 05) and they were wondering why i stopped in the middle of the crowd with them to get my camera out and take a few pics. i had to point him out and explain that the guy is basically as much a part of coachella now as the tesla coil


seems like a very interesting person indeed and im not surprised he doesnt talk to most people. just looking at the length of his dreads alone i assume this guy has been living life by his own rules for quite some time

This guy is part of my first Coachella memories from 2004. I remember watching him squat down hanging onto one of the anchor ropes of a shade tent plucking it violently as if it was an instrument to a band I can't remember. Then he would burst into short sprints hopping on and off picnic tables. I remember thinking "wow people are getting seriously fucked up out here". I felt instantly at home and felt like I had made the right decision to approach Coachella with the mind that I would go on a journey using drugs of all kind all weekend. It makes me smile to read this thread.
