sooooooo this sounds sketchy to me, you tell me.

i posted an ad on craigslist for a ps2 and games. some guy responds and says he wants to buy for his son in nigeria. states he sent the money on paypal and i receive a few emails from "paypal" but the email address is: paymentsverification@mail2consultant.com

they basically say that to protect the seller and buyer, the money from the buyer's account has been deducted but will not transfer to my account until i provide that email address above a tracking number.

it just sounded sketchy since i've never heard of paypal doing that and didn't wanna ship my item and get screwed in the end.

Never deal with anything that even mentions Nigeria.

The people in Nigeria are pretty cool! They keep entering me in these awsome contests and i keep winning!!!!! They just suck on their payments! :( I havent gotten a dime yet!!! These banks there suck too! I keep sending money to them so they can wire it but the stupid banks keep making it harder and harder! Its like its some scam or something....

If you're an internet user, you should have been aware of the "Nigeria" thing long ago. Also, if you use Gmail, there's a lab setting you can enable where the system will verify and mark official emails from Ebay/Paypal before they arrive in your inbox, so you can avoid and dump the fake ones that claim to be through them.

Only messages that actually show up in your account on the Paypal website are valid.

This includes pending payments as well. if it's done legitimately through paypal, it's done on the site

It would be next to impossible to start up a successful export business in Nigeria these days. Fucking scammers.
