View Full Version : Odd Coachella Board Related Question..

an odd question that may have been answered or brought up in some far away corner of the board, but here goes...
why does the message board say the most users ever online was:
"Most users ever online was 2,323, 09-10-2008 at 10:13 PM."
especially when there are only 2,910 active members (and one can assume many of those were created circa Coachella 2009; that or are old aliases of mine..LOL)
just think it's odd that it isn't a lineup announcement day or the day set times came out... it's a seemingly random day in September at ten o' clock at night no less.. on a motherfuckin Wednesday!
just seems odd.. it's been bugging me for awhile..
any answers would be appreciated..

That probably includes people who visit the board and don't register. I would imagine there are a shit ton of those people. Why in September? No clue on that one.

i was just about to post this. Like RIGHT NOW there are 244 users on the boards but only 51 of them are registered members
that kinds of creeps me out now that i think about the fact that five times more people are simply reading our conversations with each other than are participating

Around the time the lineup was released this year the board was glitching out and saying the date was 9-10-08, it let you post in a thread and have your post show up before the starting post.
Drinky I know that I usually don't log in until I feel like repling to a thread. So alot of those guests are just regulars that aren't signed in.

That is a tad creepy. Right now there are 37 members and 173 guests so the same ratio. But I think I got a bit more creeped out when I saw my picture in BD's cloud collage. I still have no idea where the pic is from or how much time that took to create.

I think about that when I post sometimes. Other times, I'm sure my posts creep them out more, so it all balances out.:D

Haha you know what threw me off- the pic was flipped and I'm facing the other way so my face looked odder than normal. The cottonball is great. My reaction was, holy shit that is crazy. Then it was WTF I'm in this thing? Hah. Then I saw my brother's pic from Halloween dressed as The Dude and cracked up. That must have taken you quite a bit of effort to find all the pics and resize them and arrange them. I think it should be part of next year's poster.

I try not to think about this too much because otherwise I would probably never post anything even remotely personal or identity-revealing. Super creepy.

I look at it as no different than having a conversation on a Bus, train, Metro Rail, Or anywhere in Public as a matter of fact. Shit, it's like having a conversation while waiting for the next band to go on At Coachella... There are always gonna be strangers listening in.

It would be a weird to hear these converstations on a bus, train or Metro rail.
