Other than my unbridled desire to get Orbital to the Sahara this year, I think Trentemoller would be a major win for GV. Besides, it might even restore peoples faith in Tech house/Electro as being a viable genre of electronica.

ahhh he'd be perfect for coachella

he should've been at coachella 2 years ago. it would be a bit anticlimactic this year, as all of his tracks have been played out. and by played out, i mean to me personally, as i've listened to all his cds a 1000 times each.

And am I wrong or has he never played Coachella before? If so, this is a major oversight by GV that should be remedied this year.
No repeats = Win

He's still producing. He's still remixing. The guy is still fresh as shit.
But yes, a few years ago would have been more timely. But then again, Daft Punk were late but still adored.

Statements like this are a little heavy handed. For one, it shows the bandwagon mentality. Secondly, there is a lot of crap out there that isn't under the banner of "Trance" and "Ed Banger".
Basically, the rave tent needs to get some solid groove artist up in there until the Live sets come in and starting owning.

It's not bandwagon if I'm legitimately tired of Trance or Justice/soundalikes.
I can't help it if many people agree.

the point is.....even if you ban all trance and all ed banger, you are still left with thousands of terrible electronic acts.

if trentmoller does play coachella, it better be a dj set.

I'm not familiar with his Live sets, but yes, I was referring to a DJ set. Honestly, though, I very highly doubt GV would book him as anything else.

i love Trentemoller on record but don't know anything about his shows.
Why would you want a dj set over a live set?

b/c "live" doesn't really mean live

Trentemoller is excellent live. its a hybrid live set (like most) tables and live synths/drumb machines

For traditional DJs, doesn't live mean playing music their own music rather than mixing an entire set?

live usually means playing your own music, but it's more than that. it basically means you aren't just pressing the play button. it means different things to different people. there are different levels of live. it could mean live in the traditional sense, with real instruments (i.e. soulwax). but "live" is now used very loosely, to include everything from using software (like ableton) to having a live keyboard or drummer (i.e. TRV$DJAM) alongside the dj. but most DJs who supposedly play "live" are mostly just pressing play.

it could also mean simply having a set wherein the artist's own material is central, often times remixed special for the live event or in recent cases all mashed together in unique ways like Daft Punk and Justice have done. Then have a fancy stage set-up like the above groups so it gives off more vibe than just being behind a table
I especially like seeing sets by guys like DJ Shadow or Cut Chemist (and other traditional turntablists) wherein the set is used to truly display the skills of the DJ as opposed to their own music
Like, I would NEVER want to see a Z-Trip "live" show because his original album sucks. His DJ sets are mindblowing though

In truth, I don't keep up with beatport or other means of releases... So I guess all I really was saying is that I still hear stuff I hadn't before. Maybe it's older than a year, but it still sounds better than a lot of the other shit I hear.

this.
it still would have been nice to have him at coachella 2 years ago, or even last year. i actually even started trentemøller for 08 and 09 threads, but apparently my threads weren't enough to convince GV. can you believe that? of course, i'll take trentemøller any chance i get.

trentemoller would be insane i saw him at roskilde festival in denmark this past summer it was mind blowing he had this crazy live show i cant remember which singers from his album he had onstage with him and their were dancers and crazy props went around 2 hours but even a 1 hour dj set would be so tight in the sahara
im always up for more tech house and electronica!!
