Bjork
Morrissey
Interpol
JAMC

Jarvis Cocker
Silversun Pickups
Gillian Welch

i think bjork could play before morrisey. but if he gets added friday I have no fucking clue how the two stages will pan out. fuck.... I don't know. I'm skeptical about him being added.

edit: if the above is anything close to the truth, the main stage will rock on friday. i could chill there all day starting with Jarvis.

vinylmartyr

Silversun Pickups could play later in the day on another stage and I would not be surprised.

Assuming Morrissey gets added- and I still think that's a big assumption- I think Interpol would most likely play on one of the other stages, or before JAMC. I'm not making any statement one way or another about who's 'bigger'- JAMC or Interpol- but after their Lollapalooza experience I wouldn't be surprised if JAMC made a nighttime gig one of their requirements...

Paxil and a Big Gulp.

Seriously, how many times have you listened to a Morrissey CD? It seems like new music has required listeners to listen and listen several times before the actual feel of the music comes out. I can't tell you how many times over the last couple of years that I have listened to a CD and knew for a fact that I hated it. Next thing I know, after 10 or 12 plays, I know the words to every song and I'm playing air guitar while driving in traffic.

I am not questioning your taste in music but I strongly recommend going back and listening to You are The Quarry before moving on. He's hysterical; deadpan humor.

for some people...even for me sometimes. But when I'm not depressed, The Smiths bring me down. There's a bar I used to go to where someone always played a song by them. Not something to be listening to in a social environment. Unless you're planning mass suicide.

amyzzz

It can go both ways: some songs (like "Asleep") make me feel like killing myself, and other songs (like "Half A Person") cheer me up because Moz UNDERSTANDS me, and I feel like I'm not alone. Those are Smiths songs btw. Moz plays Smiths songs live btw.

Morrissey would be an awesome addition. I can't imagine him playing on Friday, the main stage already looks so crowded. But then again, isn't that the one day not sold out? I figured if anyone gets added that day, it will be Of Montreal (why is this so shady? they were announced on KROQ, and have the date listed on myspace but have yet to appear on the poster) and some Mojave/Gobi acts.

If things are supposed to be more spread out, these are my guesses for Friday's schedule:
Main
145-235pm Noisettes
320-410pm Stephen Marley
5-6pm Sonic Youth
640-750pm JAMC
830-940pm Interpol
1020-1150pm Bjork

Outdoor
12:45-1:40 Fields
2:30-3:20 Gillian Welch
4:00-5:00 Of Montreal
5:50-6:50 Jarvis Cocker
7:45-8:45 Rufus Wainwright
9:30-10:30 Peeping Tom
11:00-12:00 Arctic Monkeys

Sahara
1:00-2:00 Evil Nine
2:00-3:30 Benny Benassi
3:30-5:00 David Guetta
5:00-6:30 Digitalism
6:30-8:00 DJ Shadow
8:00-10:00 Felix da Housecat
10:30-12:00 Faithless

Mojave (gave up attempting to guess times, too hard)
Amy Winehouse
Tokyo Police Club
Nickel Creek
Gogol Bordello
Peaches
Brazillian Girls

Gobi (ditto)
Busdriver
Brother Ali
Tilly and the Wall
Circa Survive
Julieta Vinegas
El-P
Comedians of Comedy

They could start the first act in this case the noisettes at 12:45 and I dont think the break between sets will be that much with the earlier acts, I know they said they want less overlap, but I dont think they care about the earlier acts that much. Traditionally I think its 20-35 minutes for those guys.

12:45-1:35 Noisettes
2-2:50 Stephen Marley
3:25-4:25 Sonic Youth
5:05-6:15 Interpol
6:55-8:05 JAMC
8:45-9:50 Morrissey
10:30-12 Bjork

I'm sure they could cut a few more corners too. I think its doable.

Yep,I posted about exactly this elsewhere, they suck hard in the daytime, especially now that they're older and paler.Bauhaus played after Weezer right before Coldplay in '05,so i would expect the same slot for JAMC,depending on Morrissey,so my prediction for Mainstage Friday is:
Bjork

Jarvis Cocker
Gillian Welch
with Morrissey bumping Interpol to closing the Outdoor Stage and going on right before Bjork.God I love the lineup this year!

Cast No Shadow and Let's All Make Believe are two of my fave songs from them, that no one ever mentions.

Very cool - I always watch your you tube of oasis from Coachella - I was right up front for that, very good.

I liked the Truth tour quite a bit - the whole thing seemed very reinvigorated.

they should have had a slightly better song selection for that don't you think?

Noel said it was gonna be a "b-sides" set. Dani is the real Oasis fan. She turned me onto them. It was a Goldenvoice show.

Nice - they have amazing b sides anyways.

I seen them at least 15 times (working in 96 doesn't count really). Always good.

Everyone seems to be so sure that Sonic Youth will be on the main stage, but I dont think they are necessarily a shoe in for it. I don't think they were on the main stage at Lolla.

they headlined the whole 95 lolla tour. most of the crowd left after hole though so they played to half empty ampitheatres and arenas.

I remember that too - the crowds were also reacting to their choice to play, jam style - improvised sets and not stuff from Sonic, Goo or Dirty.

I wish Morrissey would play the Greek sometime because it is so ridiculously easy to get into that ridiculously small pit. Not that I know from personal experience.

I actually thought my very firstlook at the Coachella lineup that I saw morrissey on it then couldn't find it again. Might have looled at an older lineup froma previous yearbut it was the same site and backgruond. I think its a good bet he will be there. Would be better if Johnny Mar was there too by coincidence. After all Jesus n Mary CHain , Happy mondays, Crowded House, ans Rage Against the something something are all doing a thingy get together.????????

I like this idea. I like the Greek. Actually, I like music outdoors in general.
