I figure $120 a day min. But I'll buy band shirts each day.
Shirts will run you $25-$35 each
Food - each meal around $15, so $45-ish
water $2 a bottle - you need at least 7 a day (if you go all day), so another $15

I figure about 100 a day is good, 120 is better.

Is there a way to just buy one water bottle and keep filling it up all day? that's what I usually do in the bathroom at raves and concerts most of the time..

There are waterfountains, but they're probably crowded and/or gross.

Beer $7
Food $5-10
Ice lemonade $5
water $2
I usually stop by to eat somewhere on the way home from from shows because food is more expensive at events.

actually, that's a good point. If it's gonna be that hot, dont they supply water for free?

You know, everyone's been saying 100-120 cash moneys per day, but that sounds ridiculous.
I don't eat like...4 full $15 meals a day, I don't need water every half hour, I'm not gonna buy 8 t-shirts a day, and I'm not gonna pay 8 bucks for a mediocre, American beer.
I'm pretty sure I can get away with like...25-30 bucks a day. 15ish for food, the rest for water.
If shirts are over 20 bucks, I'm not gonna buy more than one. I probably won't buy any at all. I have like 2 million, and if I want it that bad, I can get it online for a reasonable price.

so, you basically get skinned for everything.
if they exploit water charges, I'll write someone a letter.

$12? I don't see bands selling shirts that cheap ever. Not even on line. You have add shipping on line too. Sucks.

Good cuz t-shirts are between what 25-40 a piece?
Here's me
Water = 5 bottles 2 bucks a peice $10
Meals = 15 bucks x 2 = $30
3 beers = $20
1 shirt = $30
I think that's fairly resonable. 5 small bottles of water is lite over a 12 hour period I think.

Cant you get free water??? Considering how hot it's likely to be, i'm surprised that's not one of their regulations.

if you budget for water/gatorade, you will be fine. if you dont want to spend money on food have breakfast before, a snack at the venue, and eat something after the show. i suggest water and gatoraid, esp if your going to be hanging out all day, replaces the sodium and other electrolytes you have lost from the heat. and trust me, your not going to want to eat that much if its hot out. and if you dont eat the salty nummy goodness, you will want gatorade. and the frozen lemonades are great too! and the snowcones. yummm.
take at least 50$ a day for drinks/food

I find that bringing more money is always better than bringing exactly how much you think you need... im going to bring about $150-$200 a day, just in case.

Yea, I will NOT be buying shirts there. If I really want one I can buy them online on E-bay...where I usually find them at super cheap prices anyway. I usually refrain from buying anything like that at big corporate events because they seriously rip you off. I don't like water so I drink a lot less than most people and can handle the heat pretty well on just a few bottles. Ususally though, with events like this..I bring one of those "Ensure" or "Pedialyte" drinks to replace my electrolytes (I don't like Gatorade).
I'm lucky I don't drink alcohol and when it's really hot I tend to just drink more and eat less.

yeah okay..but who the hell is mc chris? it's fucken hard to find any of the even semi-popular bands with cheap shirts. the cheapest i've seen them is $10 (not including shipping and handling and other shit they like the charge out of the ass for). of course, i didn't even want any of those...

Wow, some of you are bringing a lot of cash. Watch out, I plan to sneak up behind you while you're enjoying your favorite band and steal your wallet.
I spend probably $30 per day on food and water. Merch can be charged to a credit card.

No, they're fine. Sometimes the one near the Gobi tent gets backed up, but I've never had a problem refilling water at the faucets near the entrance.

Let's put it this way: One can not have TOO much spending money at Coachella. I usually allow $100./day, and I think that's a minumum....unless you want absolutekly nothing but water and a $5-10 lunch and another $5-10. dinner. That's not me, though. I want some brewskis, and perhaps a t-shirt, and if there's a band signing CDs, that means buying the band's CD at the Virgin tent's inflated price, etc. etc. Then again, you can always drink your own urine. People do that, you know.

buy the shirts there.
i saw on madonna's "confessions coachella" shirt going for over 175 bucks.
if they are made specifically for the festival (like the madonna t-shirt), then the value will go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up.
best thread ever.

I think we spend $100 each--each day--that is what I budget. If you are there from noon to midnite, walking miles,dancing--we get hungry! It is a bit difficult to fit in eating but I think you need at least two meals and lots of water (and a couple visits to the beer garden) and when you get out late from the parking lot you are thirsty and need some more food. Oh- and we are not fat--kind of thin girls - with big appetites!
