Cheap Hotels/Hostels Near LAX

Hi im flying in on the 23rd april to lax from manchester with a couple of mates and was just wondering how far from airport we would need to go to find a place to stay as will have to go back to airport on the tuesday to pickup a rental car. How far in a taxi? or any other ideas of what we can do?

I just moved from the LAX area. There used to be a cheap hotel on the corner of Westchester and Manchester. Although a good fit for you, the hotel is undergoing fixings at the moment.

For now, I recommend you use Expedia and see what comes up near LAX. There are 100s of hotels there; some cheaper than others. As far as hostels, type in Venice Beach Hostel in your google search engine and you'll get some good choices. Venice is probably a $15-20 cab ride from LAX, but there are hostels there if that's what you like. Actually, I think some of those hostels have shuttles from LAX.

This place is just as close to Venice, and it is closer to cooler bars; also on the beach.
