View Full Version : Flying solo??????

So here's the predicament I'm in:

My flatmates in their "it won't sell out" wisdom left the whole ticket buying process until it was too late. And after seeing the over inflated prices on ebay have resigned themselves to the fact that they're not going.

Which leaves me flying solo at a 3-day camping festival.

My options are to sell the ticket or suck it up and fly solo, perhaps even design a t-shirt slogan to that effect.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as to what I should do.

Come chill with me. It'll be the Australasian connection taking over.

I went solo to Reading and Leeds festival from here. I flew alone and had a nice big hotel room alone (thanks to my flakey ex-friends).

I had a wonderful time. Lots of fun music. Of course I ended up meeting up with people there I knew but I also met a ton of new people before I found any of them.

yeah.. go solo.. went solo in 2001 and had one of the best times of my life.. being alone forces you to come out of your shell and meet new people you may never had met, had you been with your posse. Its had to the whole experience..

Thanks everyone for their advice, except you dontfeedthebird, just jokes, air conditioning was one very strong contender in the pro side of the pro/con list for not going.

Thankfully sanity pre-vailed as I can't miss coachella, and everything is booked-flights, hire car etc so no backing out now.

Getting into LAX at 8.00 am on Friday and driving out to the camp site, so if anyone needs a ride around that time let me know.

I must add here, there will be 20,000 of the most beautiful California girls you have ever seen in your life (the rumors are true) and they may get friendly and sympathetic at hearing your story. That's just my thought.

I'm in the same boat. My friend bought a 3-day pass but has decided to only go Friday. I don't have a set place to stay either, is that safe for a girl to do or should I just stay home ?

Hell yeah - here's to rollin solo and loving every second of it! I can't wait to leave Pennsylvania and fly into LAX. The anticipation has me feeling like I'll finally be returning home for the first time since when I lived in beautiful San Jose, California as a little tike.
However I must say that my initial excitement about Coachella developed after hearing about this years lineup of amazing artists, not to mention what may be one of the weekends final climactic chapters with the performace of the miraculously reunited RATM in what may only be described as a pinnacle of sensational moments in the history of live music.
Digressing away from trivial matters, I'm looking forward to pitching my tent on the campground and partying hard with everyone! AIM me if you wanna meet up and chill out to some tunes.

Cheers,

LanceMJ

PS - my SN is both a reference to my travel arrangements as well as my beer pong Solo Cup rockability ;)
