Does anyone remember around what time the set times were announced last year?
I need to work out my schedule!

A couple of days before Coachella. You'll have to work out your schedule then. So maybe Tuesday or Wednesday evening of that week.

that is so lame. How is it possible that Bonnaroo can get them up so far in advance and Coachella can't?
hell... look at SXSW.. they have them up way in advance too.

Because maybe they are taking our opinions into consideration? Trying to find the right balance and least amount of conflicts? Did that ever cross your mind?

So our requests for bands fall on deaf ears every year? And why would PF ask all the microcommunity people to update their profiles as to who they want to see the most each day? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I've found the set times in the LA Times online paper on Wed evening in the Thurs Calendar Section right before the show.

This is because GV gives them the set times to print in the special pull out section for Coachella in the Thursday Calendar section. By this logic set times get announced Weds since that information has to be complete before submission to the newspaper.

That's a big 10-4.

Would the same logic allow for the set times being announced somewhere Tuesday this year, due to the addition of a Friday night schedule?

Nope, because the pullout section in the Times comes out Thursday no matter what each year.

Coachella is the worst festival when it come to updates and releasing set times..Its always within the week of...Not very concert goer friendly either..But I keep coming back year after year....

Well did you ever think they want to make sure its all set in stone and that if there is a last minute cancellation that they can deal with it since no set times are put out intil that week? What would have happend when like Wilco cancelled in 2004 and the set times had been announced huh? What about cancellations last year and any other occasion? They would have to reshuffle everything around and then people would get confused because they might have set times already but still would think they are the same.

Anyone know where they print the set times booklets? I imagine the schedule must be in stone more than a couple days in advance, because I imagine it would take a long time to print 200,000 booklets. If only someone at the printing company would "leak" this to us...that would rule.

it probably has a lot to do with the slotting as well. at a festival like coachella the slot the bands play in (and on what stage) matters almost as much (if not more) than how much they get paid. it's probably a huge pain in the ass to confirm what time every band is playing based on their sets, load-in/load-out complexity, slotting, etc etc. that combined with the cancellations/stuff moving around/late adds from bands they're hoping to add probably makes it real hard to get set times in advance.
