I personally loved Bjork. She was completely and utterly amazing. She played almost everything I wanted to hear, and that version of Joga was astounding.

LCD Soundsystem, Soulwax and Konono No.1 are close contenders as well.

After however many years of basically worshipping Bjork, I don't think I could've had a better time than I did during her set. So, that's my #1.

I thought Hot Chip was outstanding...so much better than on their albums, and I like their albums plenty. So they're #2.

I also thought LCD Soundsystem and Blonde Redhead were awesome. I liked almost everyone I saw though.

Really hard for me to choose 1 very best now. I'll rank these (only full sets- none out of Friday) later (I have to watch my bootlegs :)): Rage Against The Machine, Klaxons, The Arcade Fire, The Rapture, The Fratellis, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsytem, The Roots (Honorable Mention: Arctic Monkeys, Silversun Pickups, The Kooks, JMAC). Best partial sets I've seen: Ratatat and Damien Rice(Honorable Mention; Justice, Bjork, Gogol Bordello, Manu Chao, Konono No. 1). Ready to go home, campsite is shutting down at 10 am. Per stories and insane noise I've heard -Crazy days with the stupidly funny riot that started with soccer and sing-along, lot of police dogs and hellicopters flying over at almost 6 am Sunday then the crazy funny bonfires last night without police intervention. It seemed to be that between camp areas B and C is their battlefield where my tent was built nearby. To Coachella and all nice people I met (Rage fans are awesome!). Thank you, I will never forget you for the rest of my life and yeah, see again next year. I might be forgetting something in my best lists.

Friday - Bjork
Saturday - Arcade Fire

Honorable mentions - Arctic Monkeys (yes it's true they were THAT good), Interpol, LCD SoundSystem, Tokyo Police Club, The Rapture, and Travis.

Bjork and Arcade Fire at Coachella '07 are two of the best live performances I have ever seen in my life and not to mention the test of endurance that I had to go through for both of them to be only feet from the front rail , it made the experiences even more breath taking.

I was done in by pretty much everyone I saw but these few really stuck out:

Blonde Redhead (just perfection)
Peter Bjorn and John(the beginning seemed a bit distorted but it cleaned up real good)
Arcade Fire(still don't really care for their music but the show was powerful)
Hot Chip(they have to be the best show I saw that day)
DJ Steve Aoki(very good set.Danced a lot)
Lady Miss Kier(just cause I love her and she got it going on)

Interpol.

Arcade Fire best overall.

Honorable mention to Interpol and the Decemberists, maybe because they both wore suits.

I was also surprised how many different types of awesome Ratatat turned out to be... way more energetic than their recorded stuff.

My biggest regret was being so annoyed with the video production of the Bjork show that I lost all interest in being there and left. At this point, I should have turned south and headed to Gogol Bordello, but having no coherent thought left and relying solely on my homing instict to guide my feet I headed back to the campsite instead, thus missing what was probably going to be my favorite act. Boo on me.

1. Gogol Bordello. Such an amazing live act with the new material. The snare drums at the end made for the perfect finish.
2. Teddybears. Wow, they blew my mind even without Mad Cobra or Iggy pop. They were well worth it.
3. Justice/ Busy P DJ Medhi. Arriving early for those DJ's was a wise choice. Pu ton an amazing show.
4. Nickle Creek. Everything i wanted them to be. Solid performance and an awesome attitude despite the size of the crowd.
5. The Roots. Three words: Masters of War.

this would be my 3rd coachella and I gotta say that almost every act I saw was stellar. Unlike last year where Daft Punk and Mogwai blew everyone out of the water for me, this year everyone save for Air and Of Montreal were good or better.

Saturday - Blonde Redhead and LCD Soundsystem (back to back I might add)
Sunday - Soulwax or Ratatat

After a week to let it all sink in and further refelct upon the experience I'd still have to say Faithless was the best I saw. The percussionist blew me away. As did the rest of the band. Bjork is a very close second.

It is very hard to rank this year though. It was my third and easily the most astounding yet. Where as the past two years there was only a handful of great sets, I feel this year there were dozens. I trul hope Coachella keeps with the three days & also brings back the do lab. That was amazing!

All in all, I caught at least 5 great sets each day.

Friday
Faithless
Bjork
Jarvis
JAMC
Silversun Pickups
(Digitalism was wicked too. Plus, the 15 minutes i heard & 15 minutes I both heard & saw of Flosstradamus was also great. The lil' bit i saw of David Guetta was fun. Toyko Police Club was my only big disappointment. they were, meh. Sound sucked!)

Saturday
The Arcade Fire
Hot Chip
MSTRKRFT
LCD Soundsystem
TIESTO (i was not planning on watching him at all, but it was a pleasant suprise for me. I probably would've enjoyed The Rapture much more on a normal night, but I was wiped out by the end of the day. I don't know how I missed !!! ? Well, the end of Justice was amazing. The Fratellis sounded good, but the music didn't do much for me. Pharoahe Monch was fun & Dj Heather was alright.)

Sunday
Soulwax Nite Versions
Rage Against the Machine
CSS
Explosions in the Sky
AIR (even though I was very annoyed they came on late and played a short set it was still nice. Happy Mondays were great during the last 20 minutes or so that I saw. Placebo was a suprise for me. I don't know they're music well I wasn't sure how I felt about them but they sounded really good. Willie Nelson & Konono #1 were good for the little bit I watched. The earlier stuff i caught - Mika, Kid Beyond, DJ Dayhota & The Feeling were meh to pretty bad. The lil I saw of The Coup sounded great though.) That's it!

Absolute total favs:
Blonde Redhead
LCD Soundsystem
Arcade Fire
(these were all in a row: AF, BR, LCD - how fucking awesome is that?)
Teddybears

Serious awesomeness:
Arctic Monkeys (who fucking knew - I barely tolerated them pre-Coachella)
Infected Mushroom
Bjork
Richie Hawtin
Sonic Youth

Great shows out of nowhere:
Travis
PVD (he has his detractors but brought it for Coachella)
Manu Chao (I agree with the "one long song" comment earlier, but they were very fun)
Soulwax

Disappointments:
the Air DEBACLE (love them but wasted a solid hour this)
Tiesto (was expecting much better - I have raver friends, what can I say?)
Jarvis (just didn't get to me)
Decemberists
New Pornos (love both these last two on album but they were so-so live)

Major regrets:
Rodrigo y Gabriela
Explosions in the sky
(FUCK!!!)

Compared to what I expected, Willie Nelson was the best set I saw all weekend. A ten-minute version of "Texas Flood", while not the most perfectly executed, blew my mind nonetheless.

I know he was thrown on the bill for diversity sake;short of "Rage" it was the best set I saw all weekend, but I was just expecting filler and received so much more.

Great: Björk, Arcade Fire, Cornelius, Rage, Damien Rice,
Good: Interpol, Travis, Placebo, Silversun Pickups,

Surprised: Arctic Monkeys (would have enjoyed more we idiots around us weren't trying to mosh!)
Kings of Leon (Not my style but not a bad way to wait for Arcade Fire)
Flosstradamus & Kid Sister (1st act of the festival and it was entertaining, nice mash ups!)

Disappointments:
Sparklehorse (Not their fault, you just couldn't hear a damn thing!)
Air (Came on really late and short set)
Explosions in the Sky (Only because I missed most of their set! Sound like a Volcano going off on stage!! Very good!)
JAMC (Good, but not as good as when the Pixies reunited. Don't flame me! I stilled liked them!)

Set that I wanted to see but missed for many reasons:
Rodrigo Y Gabriela (Damnit!)
Konono No.1 (Damnit to hell!)
Teddybears (was watching Damien Rice, My lil Sis and Bro saw them and said there were amazing!)
Jarvis Cocker (Was at the main stage all day waiting for Björk)
Dj Shadow (At Björk)
Julieta Venegas (At the main stage)

I thought the Fratellis and the Good, the Bad & the Queen were awesome, as was Arcade Fire and Interpol.

Thanks for bumping this thread ken as I have not yet responded to the question at hand. I would have to say Arcade Fire was my favorite. I was almost brought to tears during Wake Up when the crowd was singing (you know what I m talking about). Next in line would probably be Air. Even with their set cut short I still had an awesome time. Next would be Bjork. I dont think I need to explin why. Then comes probably Hot Chip. As I stated earlier today in the thread that cr**** started they were my sleeper act for the festival. OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER!

EDIT: It appears that ken did not bump this thread. My apologies.
